Linden is LOVELY!! It's uplifting and joyful. Calming and soothing. And it is wonderful for grief and depression.

@Phillip Greenwood I hear that, but also without the work and effort from humans, we wouldn't have artificial intelligence. How many thousands/millions of hours have gone into refining and creating the technology that exists today? All done by humans with a passion for what they were developing. Is writing code not an art form in itself? Have you ever tried to write code?The amazing, complex thinking that humans need to go through to make those complicated scripts to do that work is absolutely mind boggling. Why should all of that work, innovation, and creative energy not be used to create beauty in our world? As a representation of what this community stands for, I think the creation that Jim spent time thinking about, imagining, creating in his head, then formed the words to describe, so he could prompt the computer to come up with has a beautiful and warm message. If we are going to use technology - shouldn't it be used for good and beauty? Bringing people together in community? Building trust?

I've been taking a new look at my property. Each year I buy into the hype of having to purchase a bunch of plants for spring planting and every year I'm disappointed when they all die in the fall. Only to do it again next year. In past years I've ruminated about the wide open "grass" field that the old owners manicured with precision - weed killers, bug killers and all of those things that ward off any chance of full and fruitful wild medicinals or flowers. I've been letting it recover for the past few years. This year, I'm seeing things differently. Along the edges of the property are several small trees poking out from under the edges of the treeline. I'll be moving them out where they can grow to their full potential and give that barren field some texture and shade. I'm not buying a ton of plants from the nursery this year. I'll be using what is already here and placing them around the property where they will be able to spread over time. I've let the far end of the 2-acre field go wild for the past 2 years and am now seeing baby oaks and maples coming up, blackberries, and even a few dock plants. This year, we will mow even less of the property so that it will only be the half-acre area closest to the house - I don't care what the neighbors say. I'm hoping the mullein and red clover seeds that I scattered last year will begin to sprout soon. I already see the Dandelion and Red Dead Nettle blooming and flourishing. And I'm looking at the overgrowth of oregano and mint from my herb bed that I was planning on digging up, drying, and maybe composting. Instead I'm bringing them out into the front of the house and plant them in the space between the concrete walkway and the house - hoping they will flourish out there in the bare spots among the lilies. Oregano seems like a great ground cover. I'll also plant Lemon Thyme and a few others that will reproduce year after year and spread beauty and fragrance across the front of the house. I'll be taking some clippings from the forsythia bush that is here and planting them out there to form a sort of suggested walkway out to the firepit and pool, and digging up a few pieces of Black Eyed Susans and planting them in between. A friend has some coneflower roots that she is bringing over as well. I have some chicory from a "wildflower" mix I planted last year out by the pool and I just found some wild plum saplings that I'll be moving there as well.
