I was so tired I even lost my place once or twice, but while there were errors and lapses some of it sounded pretty good to me so I'm posting it. Forget about perfection, right! I'll appreciate feedback but I won't be able to reply to any of your comments since the school platform broke Accessibility for screen readers. So this is probably my one year anniversary video as I signed up September 1 of last year. Before that I was just a Bluegrass banjo picker who was curious about jazz. Now, I feel like I'm getting some foundations in the three main pillars of harmony rhythm and improv. A little shakey and still a long way to go, but I feel like I've got a basis to work from now. Probably won't be posting again for a short while as I'm having surgery on the left wrist in about eight days and that'll keep me hands off the guitar for a week to 10 days anyway. Hopefully when it heals it'll be smooth sailing and I can get down the business again.

https://youtu.be/yhsQtpxLVmE I'm still getting to grips with these new grips. Actually today is my first real day with them. Thanks to Bob Kinney for transcribing all the voicings for me. My first take was better but this one gives you a better look at my new Ibanez Guitar.;)

It looks like I'll be hands off the guitar for a while, probably several weeks at least. I got a non-displacement fracture in my left wrist this Wednesday at Gabriel's workshop. How? I was putting my guitar strap around my neck and did something funky with the wrist, I think it was extreme inward flexion and the bone just snapped. It really stinks because I was getting some momentum going with these shell etudes and really enjoying playing my new blinged out Ibanez Guitar. The upside is that I think I may have caught onto an osteoporosis condition and can take steps toward correcting it now rather than later.

I've fallen into the trap of falling down rabbit holes chasing the improvisation bunny, waiting for perfection to emerge before uploading here. Putting an end to that today. I wanted to attempt a ballad and thought it would make for easier improvisation. In many ways it turned out to be the opposite. 🙃 I chose the Oscar Peterson/Prez version of the tune and am copying Barney K's comping style - just straight quarters, which I think fits the circumstances.
