Instagram may show slightly different wording depending on your current account type. 6. If your account is currently personal, tap Switch to professional account. 7. Instagram will walk you through a few introduction screens. Tap Continue. 8. Choose the category that best represents you. For your brand, something like Entrepreneur, Digital Creator, Author, Public Figure, or Education could work. 9. When Instagram asks you to choose between Creator and Business, choose Creator. Instagram describes Creator accounts as being designed for public figures, content producers, artists, and influencers. 10. Finish the setup prompts. Connecting a Facebook Page is optional, although Instagram may recommend it. If you already have a Professional Business account You do not need to start over. Click “Next.” One thing to know before switching: professional Instagram accounts are public, so you cannot keep the account private while using Creator features.
