Question for experienced dispatchers
I’m trying to understand how dispatchers scale their business. From what I’ve learned, many dispatchers start by securing one carrier and then getting login access to that carrier’s DAT load board account to book loads for them. That means you can only search and book loads under that specific carrier. But how does this work when you grow? For example, if you have 10–20 carriers with 1–2 trucks each, does that mean you need to log into 10–20 different DAT accounts every day to search for loads? That seems very inefficient and hard to manage. So I’m wondering: • How do experienced dispatchers handle multiple carriers? • Is there a way to manage multiple trucks under one load board account? • Do dispatch companies usually get their own DAT/Truckstop account, or must each carrier have their own? • What is the standard way to scale this business once you reach 10+ trucks? Would really appreciate insight from dispatchers who are already managing multiple carriers.
