Introduction
Hello everybody! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this community, and thank you for organizing and sharing all the information you have Glenn. I appreciate the advice and insights that you have shared. I am in the process of getting myself organized. I really enjoy the creation process, but I lack connections and after watching some of your vids, I realize I need to pull some stuff out of mothballs, and build my catalog with more than just tracks, but info about them etc. If you all want to check out some of my creations, you can see my website, or find some of my stuff on a variety of streaming platforms. I look forward to seeing where this goes, and where this journey takes us all.

@Tim Jeffcoat I myself tried Taxi years ago, but I never really had much luck. Have you had any placements from Taxi?

@Dawn Dineen All the scams and things out their that take advantage of us creators really can take the wind out of ones sails. My sympathies on the hopes getting dashed.

Desert theme video game level
Imagine traveling across an endless sea of golden sand, the wind carries whispers of forgotten kingdoms and ancient ruins. The sun burns high above the horizon as a lone traveler journeys across the vast desert, only guided by distant mountains and fading echoes of lost civilization. Very descriptive I know, it took a lot of convincing to show this to the class. Like many I too fear rejection and sometimes feel like my work isn’t ready to share. But how are we suppose to grow without taking chances and risk. So here is a piece of work I have been in the process of finishing up. It is still in the early stages but it is ready to be shared. Class I ask very kindly of you all please help me with feedback so I can finish this project. I feel like as far as sound design goes I nailed it. But, I would like your honest feedback to help me improve. I definitely feel like the mix could use some work. Some parts seem a little short, some feel a little empty. Don’t be afraid to let me know I promise I can take it. I want to know what are your thoughts on this piece and how I can overall improve it. Do you think the melodies clash, the drums aren’t fitting. Maybe they sound flat, does it change pace a little too fast or too much. Or maybe it could use more atmosphere. My goal was not to over produce this but to simply convey the feeling of traveling through a desert landscape for a video game. Hope you enjoy it. https://s.disco.ac/masdbvjbjrxp

I second Glenn's recommendation of a limiter to bring the overall track volume up a bit.
Most Recent Track (2 Versions)
I wrote a drumline piece a few months ago and decided to alter it in response to a recent Taxi brief for 'Sports Percussion', which was due Friday Mar 13. Coincidentally, I had a scheduled session with Glenn on Friday also, and though he had already heard this piece (and we both agreed it had a lot of 'mud' in the mix), he gave it another listen and felt that it needed more improvement - specifically at around :37 it needed more interest so it would have a more complete development arc, and it didn't have 'edit points' that are required of sync music. I only had a couple of hours to work on it before it was due, so I created a new section at :37, created 5 edit points, cleaned out the mud using techniques Glenn taught me, side-chained the effects at the end to clean them up, removed built-in reverb that was in several of the instruments and used them 'dry' (made the mix a LOT cleaner), changed the name from "Bam Bam Bam" to "Game On!"... attached is the final mix that I submitted with edit points, and without edit points (without edit points is a little easier to listen to since it flows). Also as an FYI, below is an extract of the Taxi brief..."Please submit Sports Percussion Instrumentals with powerful rhythms that could pump up the energy for game-day highlights or on-screen sports action. Hard-hitting grooves, dynamic builds, and bold, evolving rhythmic motifs are essential, along with developmental arcs that keep the energy building as your piece progresses, as well as good edit points." My First Track
I don't know genres. Please help me know what genre this is. Also let me know what you think - mood - where this would fit - if you think it needs more done to it or if i should scrap it and start something new. Can you tell that i'm a nervous wreck - trying something new here🫣 https://s.disco.ac/wdhgporjrbfx
