Good afternoon Crafters! As weโ€™re closing 2025, this is what finishing strong looks like. Last week @Adeyemi Ojo executed KubeQuest exactly as intended. Three goals set. Three goals completed. Proof delivered. He moved from testing things to running a real setup. Thatโ€™s exactly how KubeQuest is meant to be used. Nice work @Adeyemi Ojo and thanks for setting the example New week. New focus. New progress. AI vs Tutorials for Learning
I realized lately that video tutorials slow me down more than they help. Most of them move at a pace that makes me lose focus, and I end up zoning out instead of actually understanding the topic. With AI itโ€™s a completely different game for me: - I can ask for the same concept to be explained multiple times, at different levels of abstraction. - Start high-level โ†’ go deeper โ†’ then drill into the edge cases. - I can request hands-on assignments or mini-projects tailored to whatever Iโ€™m learning right now. - And I can ask it to quiz me, test my understanding, and point out gaps. It feels way more adaptive and way more efficient than passively watching someone else click around. Whatโ€™s your experience with this topic?

Official docs and forums should be first step but between Claude and NotebookLM you can learn a lot, but focussing on fundamentals and iterating from there will help in the long run. I have created Quizzes using Claude on topics like Docker and Networking for Interview Prep which built a single page JS app for revision.

kubernetes 7 day quickstart
On track with my goals for this week ๐Ÿš€ To anyone who's not following the email notifications, this course has been really helpful. I just wanted to point out one of the initial hurdles that I had when installing rancher desktop on my old thinkpad running archlinux: check if you have virtualization enabled - lscpu | grep Virtualization If you don't see an output, you have to reboot and enable it from the UEFI menu. Once that is done, start the computer and check again. My computer had the following output: Virtualization: VT-x - lsmod | grep kvm kvm_intel kvm That was the hardest part to figure out. Everything else has been smooth sail. Happy learning!

Ran into couple of hurdles around Rancher Desktop lot starting correctly due to Long path Name and Path Name configuration. I documented the learnings on the Root cause and fix here: https://claude.ai/public/artifacts/466e3244-b21c-4236-baa0-ad4036d7d511

Thanks @Ana Howells for sharing the useful insight.
Relaxing post, don't take it seriously..๐Ÿ™‚
I love my work. Sometimes I need to touch the nature. It boosts my productivity 10x. These are some of my last expeditions in the wild mountainous forest in Bangladesh. Guys, what do you do to charge up and conquer?
