Appreciation gift from the client - PMI Code of conduct
Hello Folks, Can anyone please confirm as per PMI Code of conduct whether a Project Manager should accept the gift of appreciation from the client or politely deny it? Here is the question- You recently went on an official trip to another country to discuss a business proposition with a potential vendor. The vendor took you out for lunch and offered you gifts, as it is customary in that country. You must: Choice 1 Tell the vendor that you cannot accept the gifts as per company policy. Choice 2 Accept the gifts as it is a local custom and promptly inform your manager. Choice 3 Return the gifts, because accepting them could be interpreted as a personal gain. Choice 4 Accept the gifts, as they are not very expensive.
