Flat feet wide shoes advice
Hey guys I didnt knew for the longest time. I have flat feet. Ans was always advised to go half a size larger than my actual foot size. Im a 10.5 (US), just recently I was advised to get 10.5 (Wide). I have tried it for tennis shoes, the difference has been marginal. The sole of the foot feels better but the toes still feel cramped. In dress shoes, example Thursday boots Chelsea's size 11 feels fine. What has been your experience?

@Srini A I find that most dress shoes dont have arches vs tennis and or sports shoes. Specificially when i do wear asics shoes that are over pronation work well for me, they I consider to be marginal results when I wear the correct size and width. I haven't spent on a wide shoes for dress shoes. When I did go to the final style con by RMRS And Alpha M. I was told by Ace Marks the same issue. They suggested I go up half a size.
Natural oils making my life a mess
My dad has blessed me with the innate ability to stain my own shirts with my own oils. My Dad typically is very oily and thus I was blessed with the same ability. Unfortunately I don't know how to wash my dress shirts and dry clean them. I know dry cleaning some of them will wear them out sooner. For the ones are machine washable. I have tried oxy clean and Soil, Stain, Remover and it would clean the affected area but then stain the entire shirt. Any ideas or points. It's really costly and it's one of the reasons why I avoid the purchase finer quality shirts. Update: 12/07/2024 I had trouble uploading the photos to show you what exactly is the problem.

Prince of Wales suit c. 1930ish
Hello everyone I love this suit worn by Actor Douglas Reith by his Character: Lord Merton from Downton Abby. I believe it's called Prince of Wales checked suit. Now correct me if I am wrong, but typically suits from this era do not have side vents and possibly no single vents either. So just like a tux. For those who have experience wearing such suits, how should it fit? How does it feel? I would love to get a M2M suit in the near future. Let me know your thought because I have no idea about suits from that era.

@Geoff Saunders thank you for the comment. Unfortunately I live in LA where joggers and sweatshirts are the norm even in dress shoe only restaurants. So naturally a guy like me sticks out like a sore thumb. Because of this it also took a while for myself to have the confidence in getting a m2m double breastfed suit. I have had to deal with the stares, but while I see frowns from men I see women smiling and enjoying the view. I have had men come up to me and say dude your awesome and others talk under their breath stating what a joke i am. To each their own. In order for myself to walk confidently I had to ignore their judgement on me. So long story short: yes I don't give a darn. I wear suits everywhere and anywhere I go. I'll take it to work, going out to church, visiting a friend and hanging out. But that is my dress code. Unless I feel more tactical and I'll dress down to my fire attire or grunt style shirt and 511 pants. I was just wondering for those who wore a suit from this era how does it feel? How Many vents are typical in a suit like this? Etc.,

@Hugh Watson well that's also the advantage of a made to measure (m2m) suit. Natural fibers will make the suit more breathable. So for spring most likely the suit would be made with light wool (lighter materials) vs fall where the suit is made with heavy wool. The lining may be made of silk. You can get full, half or none (no lining). Of course that will depend on cost and where you purchase your suit
10/26 Hat Wearing Day 2
Thanks to all of the positive feedback yesterday, I wore my hat to class today. Honestly, I’m feeling quite comfortable with it already, and it’s been functioning well too. I’m also really satisfied with how my custom trousers fit. The waist properly fitting without needing a belt is unbelievable! Hacket Gray Fedora with Midnight Blue Ribbon. Leverano & Liverano Burgundy Jacket. Turnbull & Asser White with Red & Blue Stripe Shirt. Mumgai Navy & Brown Pocket Square. S.R. Tokyo Light Blue-Gray Trousers. S.R. Tokyo Burgundy & Light Gray Socks. Trading Post Bordeaux Loafers.

I was that weird kid when I was 9 year old who wanted to wear suits. I Rediscovered my love of suits in my mid-twenties. And now wear suits often.
