My first vendor market!
Super excited and full of imposter syndrome, but happy to be here! Also, I spent an hour last night ironing out this freaking black table cloth, and this picture highlights every single horrible wrinkle! What a waste of time 😂😂

You know you can get paid for bringing friends to StoryClub, right?
Just a friendly reminder! If you have any friends who would enjoy StoryClub, you can earn 40% of their monthly membership fee when you refer them! It's super easy, too. Go to the Settings button, then Invite. There should be a personalized referral code that you can share around and start earning. You earn 40% every month. The other 60% goes to Operation Literacy to help fund its mission of teaching kids a love of reading. Feel free to message me, @Eric Anderson or @JoAnne Maluti if you have any questions!
The 'Algorithm' Doesn't Exsist
"I don't know what The Algorithm wants." This is the most common phrase I hear from authors trying to grow on social media. I have a secret. I know what it wants. The algorithm just wants people to stay on social media. That means it wants content that grabs attention fast, keeps it for a minute, and encourages them to stay for more. How do you do that, though? You tell me, you're the author. How do you do it in a book? How do you hook them with a great first line, make their tummy tickle in the first chapter, and get them to read 'just one more'? Don't worry about what The Algorithm wants, just give your audience what they want. Tell good stories.

Big facts. I've found that chasing the algorithm is a fool's game. Just keep trying to make fun, engaging content and people will watch. It means you might have to experiment a bunch, but eventually you'll land on something that works.
Trad vs. indie vs. hybrid
Talk to me people. Why did you choose the path you’re on? I’d love to hear your answers.

I like indie because I like the full creative control and I like the feeling of handling the "business" of my books. I get to choose which editors and artists I get to work with.
