Breaking into Remote AppSec/Pentesting From Nepal– Looking for Guidance!
Hey, I’m from Nepal and have a background in application and network security. I’ve worked with F5 WAF, focusing on web application protection and threat mitigation. I also interned as a Network Security Engineer, where I gained experience in vulnerability analysis and implementing security solutions. To further build my skills, I’ve been learning through TCM TryHackMe, Hack The Box, and Proving Grounds, focusing on network services exploitation, privilege escalation, exploit development, and Active Directory attacks. I’m now looking for a remote entry-level role in AppSec or pentesting. I know breaking into this field can be tough, so I’d really appreciate any advice on where to apply or how to improve my chances. If you have any guidance or resources to share, I’d love to learn from you. Thanks!

@David Marques Thanks for the advice. I wanted to ask—do you think it’s even possible to apply for these kinds of roles from Nepal? I know a lot of companies prefer local candidates or those with work authorization, so I’m curious about the practical challenges and potential workarounds. Also, when it comes to breaking into AppSec/pentest, do you think companies are open to remote roles for beginners, or do they mostly look for people with prior experience?
