Claude Code Setup for a Development Team
Does anyone here have experience rolling out Claude Code across a team? I’m thinking of two setups: - DevOps: ~3–5 people - Engineering: ~12–18 people I’ve got a couple ideas, but the core problem I’m trying to solve is: how do you enforce guardrails + consistent patterns so people use Claude Code safely and the same way. In most cases, PRs are the real gatekeeper for catching damaging changes. Even with tools like Greptile or CodeRabbit, we still require human review and that’s not changing (SOC2). But here’s the sharp edge: a few of us are Git admins, and that’s where things can get nasty. Admins can override protections and bypass merge requirements. I’ve had this happen twice: I was running in agent mode and Cursor performed a git commit and effectively bypassed our merge requirements by committing directly. After the first time, I set a hard rule in Cursor globally: no git commits, ever. That worked… for a while. Then it happened again anyway. When I asked Cursor why it ignored the rule, the response was basically: β€œSorry, you’re right, there is a hard rule β€” I’ll try to do better next time.” I’m not even exaggerating. So yeah β€” how are you all handling: - org/team-level guardrails for Claude Code/Cursor agent behavior - preventing β€œagent commits” (especially for admins) - standard patterns for safe workflows across teams Im curious what other people have seen.
πŸŽ₯ GSD Has 7 Problems Nobody Talks About (PAUL Fixes All of Them) πŸŽ₯
GSD has been the go-to Claude Code plugin since it dropped. But after using it on real client builds, I found 7 structural problems that kept showing up. PAUL is a new plugin that solves every single one of them. In this video I break down the 7 problems from a completely non-technical perspective, show you how to install and use PAUL at a high level, and share my honest take on when to use GSD vs PAUL. This isn't about pushing you to one or the other β€” it's about giving you the perspective to choose the right tool for your project. Here's the repo link: https://github.com/ChristopherKahler/paul Let me know how you like it!

Awesome video!! This video actually nails the issues Im running into with my SAAS build right now and Im constantly finding silent drift even with a very dialed in GSD + CARL setup. @Charles Dove - One question I have, since I have so much rich GSD file information, have you guys thought of a migration tool on how I could easily port from GSD to PAUL?
Anyone Successfully Auto-Invoking CARL Domains from GSD?
Anyone else hacking on CARL and GSD? I just spent the last ~36–48 hours trying to add it into an existing project setup. My main concern: I’m integrating it into a complex multi-repo project that’s already had hallucination + drift incidentsβ€”bad enough that I’ve lost weeks cleaning up corruption. So I’m being paranoid about how CARL gets introduced and gated. One extra detail: I use a custom gsd:checkpoint command (I’m trying to get it committed to the GSD project; it’s currently marked low priority), and it’s been really effective at keeping drift under control. Question for the group: - How are you tying CARL into GSD safely? - Are you routing specific GSD commands β†’ CARL domains automatically? - Has anyone built a clean pattern for command hooks / wrappers so CARL runs only when appropriate (and doesn’t amplify drift)? - If you’ve got a working setup, what’s your minimum-safe integration approach?

My background is in DevOps, GRC, CISSP, CICD and pretty much anything infrastructure and security related. Im in the process of trying to Vibe Code my way through the Fullstack application portion, and so far its coming along decently. I have been working heavily with AI for about 6 months and Im really looking to get my Claude Code environments dialed in with Skills, Agents, MCPs and now Agent Teams!.. If anyone ever needs help with anything related to my background feel free to hit me up! Cheers, DK
