Advent Projects
Dressed for decorating the church sanctuary for Advent, next my house, then errands, all in black on this rainy day. Black/white donegal flat cap, zip front fleece black Columbia jacket, Orvis black and grey shirt, Levi’s black 501s, beaded belt. Salomon trail runners, Pendleton socks. Orvis field watch. I was teasing some friends recently as I usually do with a little ecumenical humor. My Methodist neighbors had put their lights up early ( before advent) so I told them they were “bad Methodist”, another Roman Catholic friend puts her lights up for Advent and I told her she needs to wait till the 24th and leave them up for the 12 days of Christmas or she is a “bad Catholic” . My next door Baptist neighbor started two weeks ago and all my Pentecostal friends have had theirs up since the day after Halloween. Neither has any idea what I am talking about so I simply chose not to pick on them 😏🤣. Ho Ho Ho Just a little seasonal fun here guys as an AngloCatholicMethodoBaptiCostal 🤔 Don’t take any of these post serious. Tis the Season. Eggnog-Rum-Ornaments-and the Elf movie awaits!

Looking like a classy outdoorsman.
How are you tying your tie?

Half Windsor most of the time. Make sure you have that power dimple.
Stop Chuck! stop!
At some point I need to stop buying hats from Boston Scally. 9 does not seem excessive unlike the wife’s collection of shoes and handbags.

Might be developing in to a problem....but if that is your only addiction 14 might be a good number.
Wedding rings
What wedding ring works best for me? I am 5.5 feet tall and my hands are small and wide with rather stubby fingers. 1) can I pull off the classic yellow gold? And of course I don’t plan to do a ring change with my outfits so I want something that always matches. 2) I’m going with a simple band (no gems on it), would it be better to go with the medium width 6mm or a thinner 4mm? And is one more comfortable than others? I’m not used to wearing rings but I used to constantly take my class ring off because it was not comfortable at all.

Color should match the color of your better half. However, if you work with your hands a lot find a silicone one to wear at work. Now for the width, I would say that is personal preference and what feels good to you. You could grab some cheap rings from Amazon in different sizes and try them out before making a big purchase.
Functional But Fashionable WINTER Footwear
I not very hopeful about this, but I thought I'd ask anyhow. Is anyone familiar with a brand that makes fashionable (looks good with chinos, shirt, tie, and overcoat) winter footwear that could meet the following functional criteria: - Warm for up to an hour at -40C / 40 below F - Water resistant - Salt resistant - Can handle trudging through 16 inches of snow - Extra wide widths - Budget Friendly ~ $100 US / $150 CAD Like I said, I'm not very hopeful. I usually carry my good shoes to work in a bag but, because I take the bus, I'm frequently doing things like shopping, going out to dinner with friends, etc on my way home, so I'm not going to be swapping out of and carrying my outer footwear around in those situations.

From the criteria you better up your budget...have always lived in a cold place and even at one time lived where the average winter temp was -30 so you will need a much bigger budget.

I love the outdoors, work 12-hour days, and have a family. I enjoy pushing myself to be better every day. Let’s push each other and stay strong!
