Surgery Update
Monday, May 11th Update: Everything is going well. Mom is sleeping a lot, which is good for her healing. She's eating well, and her pain is manageable. She sends her thanks and best wishes. __________________ Mom, is doing well. The doctor said everything went great and that she should get some immediate pain relief and with time, a little more mobility. Won't know how much until things have had time to heal and she has had time to rebuild her strength. She truly appreciates your continued care and support and hopes to be back with you soon. Knowing mom, it won't be too long.

@Lynda Coker 🥰
A Little Inspiration Piece and a Thank You.
Thank you for your prayers and concern. Recovery is slow but progressive and my pain level has diminished by at least 30% and I'm told it will improve even more as I fully recover. My biggest problem right now is fatigue. So I'm taking lots of naps and then some more naps, and a few naps in between naps. LOL. I hope life is being kind to all of you. Please stay safe and, of course, stay scrap happy!

Lynda rest as much as you need too I’m glad the pain is being relieved 30% is good considering what you’ve been through and it’s just gonna get better from here. 🥰 it’s good to see you.
Patchwork with scraps
This is the beginnings of my patchwork cushion cover using scraps and odd bits of fabric. It’s a nice slow make and I’m enjoying every stitch. Even the paper hexagons are made from scraps of discarded paper. It’s going to be a 16inch square cushion so I’m getting there. I’m not sure I have enough to patchwork the back. That might have to be plain.

@Caroline Walmsley thank you
Silk scarves
I’ve been given 20 100% silk scarves and I’ve no idea what to do with them. Has anyone any ideas what I could make or how to use them?

What a special gift. I’m not a long time sewist so I’ve no idea how to work with silk and other delicate fabrics it’s a question I was going to ask the peeps in the refashion rebel group because I have some fabric I want to make a dress out of but it’s fabric I fear

@Cheryl Jones I’ve stayed away from the delicate fabrics so far because they scare me. Years ago a I tried to hem a pair of pants that I just ruined. That fabric just moved and rolled and just made a mess of things. I’ve not tried since.

@Sarah Carpenter glad you are out of hospital and recovering. In case you don’t know Lynda had surgery on her back last week and will be out of service for a bit. We, the community are going to keep her group going while she recovers. I have only started sewing 2yrs ago I consider myself a newbie.

Thrift store junkie for 45 yrs. I discovered upcycling about 18 months ago. I started with Traci Myers and found Mandy thru her. I love this journey.
