Todd and I have started looking ahead at Skoolology in 2027. You’ve already given us a lot of feedback about what you value here and what you’d like to see more of, so I’m not going to ask you to do that all over again. 😂❤️ But there is one direction we’re considering that I want to put in front of you before we make any decisions. We’re thinking about moving Skoolology to one paid membership for new members rather than multiple tiers. Why? Because the more we build this with you, the more we see that so much of what makes Skoolology work happens together. Someone brings a real build into the room. Another member sees something they didn't. Todd comes at it from one direction, I come at it from another. We ask questions. We test something. Someone shares what they know. We come back and figure out what happened. And we're beginning to wonder whether dividing that experience into membership tiers makes sense anymore. We'd rather make Skoolology simpler. One room. One membership. When you join, you're in. Then, when someone needs deeper individual support beyond the membership, we can meet that need separately rather than using tiers to determine how much of Skoolology they get to experience. And before anyone already here wonders, Wait…what does that mean for me? ❤️ You are our founding members. Our OGs! Your current pricing will be honored. And you will continue to receive our highest level of membership support. You helped us build this place. You have made Skoolology what it is, and you're shaping what it is becoming! Simplifying things for the people who come after you will not mean taking something away from you. In fact, we're thinking bigger about what membership can become. As we look toward 2027, we see Skoolology becoming even more of a home base for the whole build—not just your community, but the community-led business growing around it. A place to bring what you're building and get thoughtful eyes on it. To learn from research and from each other.

Weekly focus check-in. I build with about 10 hours a week, so I pick one focus and let the rest wait. This week mine is: Get people into my community, one useful comment at the time. What's yours? One thing only.

I've had a few conversations lately with builders who are trying to get more of the right people through the door. So when @Des Dreckett shared this, I asked if I could bring it over here. Des put together 10 Ways to Get People Into Your Skool Community, with practical ideas for YouTube, commenting in other communities, Classifieds, events, presenting in other communities, your About page, and more. Thank you, Des, for putting so much work into this and letting me share it with our builders. ❤️ But here's the part I REALLY want you to notice... Des isn't telling you to go do all 10. His advice is to pick two, test them for six weeks, pay attention to what actually brings people in, and keep what earns its place. That part feels especially important. Because when traffic is slow, it's really easy to collect another 10 things we could be doing...and suddenly we're trying to do all of them. 😂 I'd rather see you use this as a menu. Read through it. Notice what makes sense for your community, your people, and the time you actually have. Pick something to test. And, I'd love for you to come back and tell us what happened. If you look through all 10 and aren't sure what makes sense to test first, bring that question here, too. That's exactly the kind of thing we can think through together. Thank you again, Des. I’ve been thinking about gratitude today. Building a community can sometimes feel like something we’re doing on our own. Our community. Our decisions. Our ideas. Our worries about whether any of it is actually working. 😅 But when I stop and think about it, none of us really builds alone. There are people who ask a question that makes us think differently. People who share something they’ve learned. People who encourage us when we need it. People who celebrate a little win with us. And people who simply keep showing up. ❤️ I’m especially grateful today for the way people show up for one another here. I see questions answered, ideas shared, encouragement offered, and people taking the time to really listen to each other. Those things matter. And it has me thinking about all the people, in all the different corners of our lives, who become part of what we’re building. A friend. A member. A mentor. A spouse. Someone in another community. Maybe even someone who has no idea they’ve influenced us at all. Who are you feeling especially grateful for in your building journey today? Something @Christy Keeter said has been on my mind this morning. “You are allowed to learn while you build.” I’ve been thinking about why that can be so hard. Our brains like certainty. Before we put something out there, we want to know: Will it work? Will people understand it? What am I missing? Should I tweak it one more time? 😂 So we research. Prepare. Think. Refine. All useful things. Until we reach the point where more thinking can’t give us the information we’re looking for. Because some information only exists on the other side of action. We don't know how another person will respond until they respond. We don't know what they'll use until they use it. We don't know what needs changing until something real gives us feedback. That shifts the goal from... “I need to get this right before I put it out there.” to... “I need to put enough of it out there to learn what comes next.” That one feels different to me. 👉 Where in your build might you be trying to think your way to an answer that you could learn faster by testing? Maybe being ready doesn’t mean knowing. Maybe it means being ready to learn. ❤️
