Hey guys, I decided on 12/19 to boost my upwork profile. Less than 24 hrs later I got invited to my first job in 6+ months through the platform(other than generic research invitiations for flat $20). I have deep level of expertise so my rate is a reflection of that, with that said, this project was painstakingly low value for me it was $50 bucks for about 3 hours of work(fixed price, I took on all the risk). I countered at my normal rate $150/hr but the client said he could not afford me, to which I responded, if he could give me a 5 star review I would be happy to take on that project. As I am trying to use upwork as an income source. It turned out really well. He was blown away with the value I gave him(I am super business oriented so I could explain complex ideas very simply and help him learn too). Fixed his problem very quickly that he had apparently spent multiple days on. He was so happy that he gave me a bonus bringing the total earnings to $75 and gave me my 5 star review. Want to share this encouragement that even if you are used to certain pay, you are running a business, this is an investment opportunity. Paid off for me!
