If crochet makes you feel stupid, it's not you. I teach "impatient" humans with zero pressure. No hovering or perfectionism—just crochet that clicks.

Weekend Roll Call!
Our Community is growing! What's unfolding in your weekend? I'm working away on an IRL (In Real Life) event with @April Mitrik in the Peterborough Area...and recovering from the flu. (ick). Missing my favourite homeschoolers at @Bethany Elmhurst 's house and our church Co-op but it's been some time to sit, plan, reflect and be at peace at home. @Aija Keskinen @Alice Claringbold @Amanda Owens @Amy Fiorentino @Andrea Fagan @Angel Loo @April Mitrik @Bethany Elmhurst @Breanne Cooper @Michelle Beazer @Renee Bunch @Selina Blatchford @Cheryl Patrick @Dayna Hopf @Dayna Taylor-Palenkas @Erica Martinez @Fernando Roa @Gideon Latone @Hannah Keating @Heather Cooksey @JaLisa Henderson @Jenn Hayes @Jenna Kelly @Jennifer Counce @Kim Cullen @Lisa Vanderveen @Lucy Hutchings @Mary Kem @Melissa Gillard @Melissa Steiner @Michelle McCartney @Molly Christensen @Munirih Suddess

Real life homeschooling
Sometimes we can feel like real life gets in the way of homeschooling. After all there are bills to pay, meals to make, babies to nurse, laundry to do (O the laundry!). Next we have lessons but I think that life is homeschooling...if we can grow young people who are great at the day to day stuff and LOVE learning...well that's what it's all about. What "hacks" do you use to make daily chores a thing that everyone knows are just part of life?

My kids have responsibilities they have to maintain in order to maintain their privileges. Responsibilities include personal hygiene, the day's lessons, cleaning up after themselves and caring for their animals. Privileges include special snacks, tablets, bikes, toys, outings to special places. They understand that in life, you aren't going to have privileges handed to you if you don't take care of your responsibilities.
Money Math Monday!
Money Math! How do you teach Money Math at your house? Allowances? Your own store? Chores for money? Board games?

"BUT YOU'RE NOT A TEACHER" "YOU DONT KNOW WHAT TO TEACH THEM" I'm not sure it's a myth, but knowing what to teach your kids is easy....its based on your family values, standards and beliefs. For the rest, plenty of books and resources exist for that. Just think of all the things you learned in school that you never used, have forgotten or you found out as an adult were false or misleading.... And they are certified!
