What about functional medicine for PMOS [PCOS]?
Someone in here @LaShana Hubert asked me a simple question. "Is functional medicine good for PMOS/PCOS?" I was ready to fire off a quick answer... and then I just sat there. Completely stomped. So instead of forcing a fast reply, I got really curious about why I felt so conflicted. Old me would have said yes in two seconds. The language of functional medicine matches things I actually like... thoughtful investigation, looking past surface symptoms and tring to connect the bigger story, trusting the body to give signal. But there's a layer underneath this question that almost nobody talks about. And once I started pulling on it, I couldn't give a clean yes or no. So I recorded my real answer instead. It's the answer I'd give a friend. Watch below. And if you've ever wondered whether you're working with the right kind of practitioner... PMOS (PCOS) or otherwise... this one's for you.

Pitch a video question ✨
Have a question about PCOS, metabolic health, cholesterol, or body love that you’d love answered in a video? Drop it here 👇 What works best: - Topics you’re confused about - PCOS/metabolic health/blood sugar/diet/cholesterol things you’ve seen online - Questions you’d love explained in simple terms - Things you wish doctors would explain more clearly What’s off-limits (to keep this safe & clear): - No personal or individualized medical questions - No requests for lab interpretations or supplement prescriptions - No posting your labs, meds, supplements Here’s how it works: 1. Add your question to this thread. 2. Upvote the ones you’d also love to hear about. 3. From time to time, I’ll choose questions that seem most helpful for the community and create a YouTube or IG video to unpack them. 💛 Think of it as a bonus gift, not a guarantee. If your question gets chosen, I’ll tag you when the video is live. Do you feel like functional medicine could helpful with (PCOS) PMOS.
Big day PCOS has a name change today PMOS
For years I've said pcos is a misnomer. You don't have cysts on your ovaries despite the name 🤪 The way pcos/pmos ovaries look like in ultrasound is because of the egg follicules! So what does PMOS stand for: Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome 👏👏👏👏👏 so much better. So much more accurate "New name to improve diagnosis and care of condition affecting 170 million women worldwide" This day will forever be a special one. Research progress and advocacy at play! Now to update all my things in all the places .... websites etc. How do you feel about this?

I agree, I actually like the renaming better.
✨ Sunday Shift & The Mat Mindset
Happy Sunday shift day. Today was quite a special day in my family. For those of you who've been following along for some time, this may not be a surprise, but today my father... a world-class wrestling coach... was honored as a Hall of Fame inductee. He was an Olympian both as an athlete and as a head coach, and built a wrestling program from the ground up at a university that continues to lead. This isn't even the first time... it's his fifth induction across different organizations. Two things really stood out from his speech and from the speeches of his athletes. 🌟 1) His biggest success factor as a coach was that he spent just as much time off the mat coaching. Highlighting the mental and mindset component of performance. 🌟 2) If you step onto the mat with the goal to win or not lose, you've already lost. To show up at an elite level consistently, the goal must focus on strategy, process, preparation, and the opportunity to do something. Trusting that focus allows you to perform your best, and that performance translates into long-term results. I thought that was pretty profound and highly relevant to the health space and the work we're doing in this group. One of the biggest differentiators of this group is that, unlike 90% of other PCOS pages that say "join us to lose X pounds," we focus on performance rather than a single weight-loss goal over 12 weeks. Did you notice? I'm not here to shame that goal or judge it... I'm simply pointing out the equivalent of getting on the mat wanting to win versus getting on the mat to perform consistently. And I trust that if we focus on the later goal...things far greater than something that can be captured on a scale will prevail. ✨ TWO OPTIONS: Choose YOUR Adventure ──────────────────────────── ✅ OPTION 1: Create Your Sunday Shift Post Turn a verbal ramble into something you can post ──────────────────────────── I want to inspire you to commit to your own Sunday shift this week. You can create a new post... here's a link to the Sunday Shift generator if you need a verbal ramble structured into something you can post.
