Hey All I work in health & safety, mostly in construction and the oil & gas sector, in my own consulting business. I do some speaking as part of that while I'm consulting. I want to make speaking more of it. A revenue stream for the business, actually. I have a book out – Influence: It's Leadership and Safety at the Sharp End – that I want to leverage with my speaking content. I'm in Alberta Canada, maybe speaking will take me farther.

@Lybia Marie Rivera look into book readings with that book. That could be fun. Congrats on the book. That’s a big deal.
How are you using speaking in your work?
Some people speak with clients all day, others lead the team, others are in a lot of meetings. ..and some spend their time on social media content, webinars, networking events, ads.. ..So where is YOUR main speaking in your work?

I haven’t been on here in a while and just picking things back up. I use speaking nearly daily in the morning pre-job meetings on industrial construction sites. I speak on safety and leadership. I keep the speech at 3-5 minutes. This takes a fair bit of work but it is an opportunity to try topics or part of what will be bigger presentations. Pretty lucky that way.
THIS OR THAT: Storytelling or Persuasion skills?
Same as previous week (https://www.skool.com/beginner/this-or-that-with-a-twist-confidence?p=d194bf87), You have 10 points to divide: 1. Storytelling skills 2. Persuasion skills For example: 6 points – Storytelling skills 4 points – Persuasion skills And of course, an explanation on WHY would be the finishing touch.😉

@Stipe Romac Yes, that is a good point. We must always keep the audience in mind. even if it is an audience of one.

It seems to me that people are starving for human connection. Being interested can help make us stand out.
