Hello. I' reside in the Orlando area of Florida. I work remotely for my corporate gig which pays well but I've been trying in vain to attain other income streams for a year now to have more job security and double-time my retirement fund. I have no problems taking action, although I admit I'm a bit paralyzed at the moment. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to already be earning or on YT for the programs here. But Alex's videos resonated with me. This is what I have done so far. Maybe some of you can relate? 1) 9 months on IG posting twice daily for my personal finance offers. no sales or views or follows. TONS of classes and GPTs I paid for to help solve all the problems. finally shut it down. 2) just finished a freelance copywriting course. have my portfolio and website ready. the lesson on making a pitch list was only 14 minutes long. After 2 hours I have only 3 on companies on my pitch list. I'm supposed to pitch to 5 a day. making the website and portfolio was more fun than the actual copywriting, but it's a valuable skill to have, no doubt. just hard to use for yourself. 3) i've tried marketing what i do for my actual day job. reached out through LI, did Upwork and Fiverr profiles. got as far as 3 interviews for one company that was my only warm lead, but ultimately in my field people want actual positions that fit into what they hire for, and not a freelancer. they do contractors (i'm one now) but through large recruiting firms that employ us. not by a one off person reaching out. 4) i've got a spreadsheet i used to calculate college costs BEFORE applying and all the parents wanted it. i wasn't allowed to sell it in that group but i hired a programmer, had a website, got the thing all ready. no customers. About me: people come to me all the time for natural health advice. hormones. a supplement. some food ingredient. people i haven't heard from in years. my daughter is taking me on a journey personal training me in the gym and getting me counting macros and meal planning. i have quite a story where personal finance is concerned. a stranger walked up to me in a restaurant once when she overheard me giving my sister financial advice on the phone to say how much it helped her. people find my writing hilarious and engaging in social media groups where i'm not selling anything.
