Turning leftovers into magical desserts 👀
I turned leftover rice into ice cream — what’s YOUR superpower? 👀 Pull up a chair. This is what we’re eating today. Creamy, chocolatey “rice cream” made from the most random lineup — leftover rice, lemon (yes, peel and all), cacao, and a little maple syrup magic. Spun into something that tastes way fancier than it has any right to. No heavy fats. No sugar overload. Just real food doing its thing. This is the kind of magic we make over here at Rooted & Wild — simple ingredients, zero rules, and food that actually hits. What’d you have for breakfast? Or better yet, what are you bringing to the table next? 🍨✨

That looks delicious!!
I don't DRINK coffee but I do put it up my 🍑😮
I said it and I’m not afraid to admit it… I LOVE coffee enemas. When I do them, I feel lighter, my skin is clearer, my digestion is smoother, and my energy feels more stable throughout the day. I’ve been doing them regularly for the last few years after being introduced through a health reset program created by a psychiatrist who trained with Nicholas Gonzalez (see video of him below). Similar protocols, like Gerson Therapy, also incorporate coffee enemas as part of their approach to supporting the body. For many, coffee enemas are a way to support the body’s natural detoxification processes—especially in a world where we’re constantly exposed to chemical, physical, and emotional stressors. ☕️ So how do they actually work? A common misconception is that coffee enemas are just about clearing the colon. While they do clear out the colon (not to be used in place of a natural bowel movement), their primary purpose is to support liver function. The coffee is retained in the colon, where compounds like caffeine, theobromine, and theophylline are absorbed through veins that circulate to the liver. These compounds are thought to: • Support liver detox pathways – encouraging the release and processing of waste • Enhance bile flow – which plays a key role in eliminating toxins • Support digestion – by promoting movement through the bowels • Increase glutathione activity – via compounds like cafestol and kahweol, which are linked to antioxidant processes • Activate the vagus nerve – supporting a parasympathetic (“rest and digest”) state • Support overall system regulation – which some people experience as reduced discomfort and improved energy Like most things in the wellness space, you’ll find a wide range of opinions on coffee enemas—their benefits, safety, and effectiveness. My experience has been overwhelmingly positive, and I always encourage people to learn, get support if needed, and go at their own pace. Have you ever tried a coffee enema? If not, would you ever consider it? Why or why not?

@Vasi Smith there is definitely a learning curve, and making sure I have the right tools, the best coffee, and just overall learning the process. I probably read about it quite a bit before actually trying it. Initially I learned a lot from a coffee enemas FB group. I agree that all of us need to detox, but I also believe there are so many different detox methods and we don't have to do ALL of them. I tried and it became overwhelming lol

@Vasi Smith yeah I've definitely simplified things in the past couple of years!

I'm interested! I could talk about everything from plant-based eating, longevity, Blue Zones, inflammation. Let me know if you're interested in any of these areas and I can provide a few more specific workshop options! Or if you have something in mind already
Happy New Year, from our animals to you and yours!
As we approach 2026, let’s take a few moments to honor the animals that uplift our lives and help us to Thrive! These animal companions are important parts of our lives and families, bringing richness, depth, connection, and occasional entertainment. They may not celebrate the New Year, but we can celebrate them! Share in the comments about an animal or animals that are part of your life now, or share about past animal buddies that are no longer with you. Wishing you clarity, joy, connection, and many wonderful moments with your human and animal companions as we step into a new year, a year full of new possibilities and adventures :)

Introducing Redwood, an honorary member of the Thrive Community. And yes, she IS a rabbit. How does she exemplify the principles of the Thrive Community? She doesn’t worry about what she’s eating, and she enjoys the heck out of her grass and alfalfa and other greens, not caring what anyone thinks! Redwood exemplifies self-love. She has good boundaries and will take on any rabbit who intrudes on territory she considers to be hers. We learned this the hard way…thinking we can let all the lady rabbits hang out together. Nope, Redwood would have none of it. She is a lone rabbit, INfP, who honors her need to be alone She picks the best quality, most nutritious foods around her cuz she knows they make her feel the best! Plus, they’re the most delicious ones. Her secret indulgence treat? Grain-rich duck food with corn and sunflower seeds, etc. She knows not to have that around all the time, cuz she would just overdo it. Well, ok, her humans help with that, making sure she doesn’t have too much duck food in her environment cuz she may just make herself sick! But she accepts that and she enjoys all the foods she does have available to her . She also has a droopy ear that her humans think is absolutely adorable. But don’t tell her that! She considers herself too proud to be called adorable!

@Vasi Smith yeah totally makes sense! We did end up neutering them because of one of them is a female. We read it could increase the chances of cancer if you don't neuter, but honestly not sure now if that was true? It was several years ago. I'm sure it was a traumatic procedure 😔 Your bunnies are soo cute. How old are they? (Just edited my comment after seeing your post. I see the droopy ear now)
