A rare photo
Two things I rarely ever wear, the shark cowboy shirt and shorts. Wife and I went to the lake today, and I got to break out my old fishing pole. Since it was a non stop drive from home to the lake I figured I could get away with wearing something out of the ordinary. Boston Scally Captian flat cap Shark cowboy print short sleeve shirt Cargo shorts Darn tough dark gray socks Jim Green Bush war boots Garmin instinct tactical watch Norwex fanny pack Like I said, not something I would ever wear in public, but luckily nobody saw me today other than my wife.

Monday = A New Beginning!! 🎉😎
I know not everyone shares my enthusiasm for Mondays. 😂 But for me, Mondays represent a new beginning. A fresh week. A clean slate. Another opportunity to reset, get organized and be intentional about how I want to approach the days ahead. Today starts in the office and then takes me out for a few meetings with my attorney, so I wanted an outfit that could comfortably move between both settings without feeling overly formal. A tan plaid sport coat, pink shirt, brown trousers and brown shoes gave me exactly that balance. Polished enough for the meetings later, but still relaxed and seasonally appropriate for a warm August Monday. And since I’ll be out and about, the Panama gets to come along as well. 😎 The more I think about intentionality, the more I realize that it often lives in the small things. Choosing what I’m going to wear. Planning the day. Taking care of the details. Deciding what kind of attitude I’m going to bring into the week. None of those things are especially dramatic, but together they help me feel like I’m beginning the week on purpose rather than simply reacting to whatever comes my way. That’s a big part of why I genuinely love Mondays. They aren’t something I’m trying to get through. They are another new beginning. And I plan to make the most of this one. 🎉😎 Hope you all do as well!!🙏

Weight Loss Going Well
Quick picture snapped in the office lift. I’m now 7.5 stone down, with 1.5 stone to go. Now when I see my reflection, I no longer see a fat man. I see a thin man who’s let himself go a bit. 😀 Please excuse the manic look, I was on the way to lunch and feeling ravenous.

An Update
Two weeks ago, I had the knee surgery done and once the surgeon got into my knee, he discovered that rather than the expected tears in the ACL, MCL, and meniscus, I had a shredder ACL that, as I was informed yesterday at my two week follow up, caused no stability in my knee and explained 95% of the pain I had been experiencing. Now again, two weeks out, I was told to start putting weight on it, ween off crutches, and they took the restrictions off the brace but I will be wearing the brace for the next two to three months. I’m to go full steam ahead with PT and by medical standards, I’m much farther along than a normal two weeks post op. In fact my surgeon was almost giddy sounding when he looked at my repaired knee and how well it looks now, apparently the first time in almost 30 years that I’ve had a fully functional knee. PT and shorts, can’t get pants over the brace, for the foreseeable future.
