A composition I made using the COPET Method
Family! Here is a composition I made a while ago using the COPET method as an intro to a hip hop beat I was working on. From my heart and mind to yall, the story I envisioned is the moment Beethoven finally realized his hearing would never be the same. Can you imagine the anguish he felt?! Anyway here is the piece. I want you to listen, and in the comment section tell me what emotions you feel, and tie it to your own story. Enjoy! https://www.instagram.com/reel/DQyJVp2DZNe/?igsh=MWJjNnNqYTRjZ3Ztdw==

I believe Moonlight Sonata was the piece he composed after facing that realization.
Hey! I didn’t disappear!!!
Family I want to say thank you for real. These last few days have been heavy. Life has been tough emotionally and I needed a moment to reset my mind and step back into my purpose with a clear head. I appreciate every person in here who has stayed patient and stayed focused on your own growth even while I was quiet. I see you and I am never taking that for granted. I created this community because I believe every adult pianist deserves a place to grow with structure, clarity, and real feedback. I am here again and I am showing up fully. We are locked back in. We are moving again. And we are getting better together. One last thing. We are back in session tomorrow night at 8pm EST for COPET Mastery Monday. Come through ready to learn! D Let’s get it. — CJ

My name is Elaine. I am from the U.S. I love playing Chopin and I want to work on my control and touch to communicate more emotion in my playing. I don't always know where to pause or slow down or where to emphasize certain parts, especially when first looking at a piece of sheet music and having never heard it before. I also plan to advance to play organ some day.
Words of wisdom!
Hey Family! As I’m currently working on adding things to Cliffs Keys to Mastery to make it more engaging and a fun space to learn, I came up with the following thought…. “A pianists touch on the piano is his/hers unique artistic fingerprint”. That is exactly why I made the COPET method (Composer Oriented Piano Expression and Technique ) Method. This method is guaranteed to help you become one with piano technique, your piano repertoire you’re learning, and compositions you’re working on through the means of emotional storytelling. Let me know your thoughts below regarding this.

I love this quote. You can definitely tell subtle differences in every piano performance you hear. And especially when you have a mindset of a piece "should" hear, it gets in the way of some artistic liberties pianists might take. Sometimes you like a accent on a certain note or a pause before a certain part and it inspires you I your own interpretations! And sometimes you things you don't like in a piece and you make a mental note of how to improve.
