Weekly Wins!!! 🏆
Hey guys, hope you're all having a great week out there! It's the weekend again, so hopefully you have some time to un-wind a little. The weeks feel like they are going fast right now! I wanted to drop in with some weekly wins - This is a BIG one for me... I just signed the lease on the studio space in Whistler!!! I still have some work ahead to get up & running, but this is such a huge win for me. I've dreamt of my own space, before I even started Tattooing, over 10 years ago. Timing never felt right & I was always unsure of location, but this space dropped in my lap at the perfect moment. That moment was around 4 months ago, so it definitely hasn't been straight forward. But nothing really good in life ever comes easy! I'm excited to share my journey as I get this up & running! I also got to meet with a long term client, who often drives 7+ hours to come & get tattooed by me. And I had a consultation for an awesome Halloween based project! How has your week been going? Any wins you'd like to share? 🙂🙂🙂

So exciting to see goals come to life! Enjoy the process of getting everything set up just the way you like it. I know your soul will be thrown into this new space and your clients will feel it. 🙌🏼 congratulations

I’ve been desiring ( not just lately but forever) to do mostly lady faces with different topics around them keeping the face the focal point. Everyone seems to want mermaids lately which I’m absolutely ok with. I keep my sessions shorter for locals so only got linework done in this one but the goal is there and both me and client are stoked. The octopus is from last summer. I was jazzed about her wanting to turn the octopus into a full sleeve… next session we will do the face in colour. I found this app that sort of melds faces together. I’ll basically find a face online of some lady and then take the photo of my clients face and kind of mix them together which gives a unique face that doesn’t already exist. So far for those clients I’ve used it with, they are like “hey she kind of looks like me !” It’s subtle resemblance but they love it and resonate with the image more. Just something I’m trying out.

@Candice Perry thanks! Me too haha. Isn’t that the funnest part watching them come together? It’s so hard when alot of my clients come in only once/ month to work away at long projects. My patience is tested
The Courage To Be Disliked...
I did know it was coming... I knew as soon as I started putting this out there, I would be talking to a big mix of people - Tattoo artists of all ages, were about to see what I was sharing. Some would resonate, some would not. I guess I'm lucky that in my day to day life, I feel surrounded by love. I live with three awesome girls & start my day there. I seem to be attracting superstar clients, & I'm grateful for all of the positive feedback I receive from my tattooing. So while I expected this, it was a very new feeling. The first couple of posts went out & I ran one as an ad. For the first time targeting Tattoo artists, rather than the tattoo loving public. And so, the nasty comments began. 'Kids today...", one tattooer started. I am 46, so this one made me laugh. But then another, & another. I paused the ad because I needed time to process it a bit. I remembered adding a book to my playlist called 'The Courage To Be Disliked'. Perfect timing! I'm only half way through this book, discussing Adlerian philosophy & won't go too deep at this point. But I just reached a point where they discuss separation of tasks. And how we should focus on our tasks & not get involved in other people's. Whether or not someone likes us, or not, is not up to us. It's their task. Real freedom comes through accepting that. Real freedom comes through having the courage to be disliked. And as a reframe of that situation - I'm actually glad to be separating opinions. How else will we find our new members, who are the right fit to join us here. While reminding the people negative enough to leave those comments, that this is not for them. And that same ad did bring 4 awesome humans our way & hopefully more will keep coming. I'm going to stand proud behind this mission of bringing people together, because I really believe in it. Thanks again for being here. There would be no community without you!✌️

It’s not possible to be liked by everyone. I put blinders on and focus on those who resonate with me, aiming to ignore any chatter that doesn’t align with my goals and feed the soul. It’s not worth the energy and time to focus on haters. Not always easy but I decide they aren’t on The same frequency and lane as me in life and move on ( plugging ears and humming to myself lalala 🙄) I try to mentally send them love and good vibes which makes me feel my work with them is done and wash my hands of them. There’s lots of people who do like me so they are the ones who get my attention.
Mission 1!!! 🚀
Ok guys, I really wanted to jump in this week with some action steps! I’m going to drop a quick, but powerful strategy, that brings me new clients while I sleep. I’m breaking this into steps & I’ll be assembling this into a short course to add to the classroom section. My intention is always to break things down into simple steps, so here’s step 1! I’d love you to watch the video, make a quick Instagram post & share the link in the comments below. ✨ This is super easy, super effective. I really hope you find it helpful! - I’ll go first…

@Luke Utz really good intro Luke. Quick and to the point! I script at the beginning was a bit fast but I got a sense of your style and some personality came through too which I feel is super important.
Clients - A Quick Question… 🤔
We have so many things we can talk about here! We’ll look into the different aspects of our businesses in small chunks, leading to some quick actionable steps we can take to improve things. Social media & marketing are common issues to have on our minds. I’d love to start by asking a quick question- Where do you normally get your clients from. Are you getting clients from - - Walk-ins - Organic posts - Paid ads - Referrals? Then I’d love to share how one social media post brings me all of my new clients!

Similar to Joshua, I have lived in the same town for 25+ years and built a lot of relationships which started out my client base when I started tattooing. They then told people etc. that makes up about 50% of my clientele who are return clients (and they tell people) etc. Then I have a street shop which brings me another maybe 40% (and they tell people ) …Social media is not my super jam and I don’t know if I get work from it directly but it’s where people can view my work so probably do get work from there. Mostly good reputation and relationships have been my ticket I believe.
