I was chatting with @Mindy Molein and @Mark Whitby simultaneously about Public Skool communities showing up organically in Google Search, and we uncovered an opportunity worth sharing. YouTube! And remember, Google owns YouTube! Google Search has changed. Between AI Overviews, traditional listings, and prominently featured YouTube videos, getting noticed is more competitive than ever. Take a look at the image. Notice how prominently Google displays YouTube videos, complete with thumbnails? Here's the strategy: One keyword. Two opportunities to rank on Google. If you own a Public Skool community, every valuable topic you cover is an opportunity to put this strategy to work. Here's the order I recommend: ✅ Choose your keywords. Think about what potential members are searching for on Google. ✅ Create your YouTube video FIRST. Cover the topic, optimize the title and description, and include a link to your Skool community. ✅ Create a valuable Skool post. Use the same primary keyword, provide helpful written content, and embed your YouTube video. ✅ Connect the two. Update your YouTube description with a direct link to your published Skool post. For example: If you run a sourdough community, create a YouTube video titled How to Make Sourdough Bread for Beginners. Then publish a Public Skool post covering the same topic, with your video embedded. Now you have two opportunities to appear in Google Search: your YouTube video and your Public Skool post. Neither is guaranteed to rank, but both can help potential members discover your community. The best part? You're turning one valuable topic into two pieces of searchable content! Thanks to Mindy & Mark for sparking this conversation! Use YouTube to get discovered. Use Skool to build your community. Are you using YouTube to attract new members to your Skool community? 👇
