first (instrumental) song
Lunar Sea Coastline is the first step of a new instrumental project built around electric guitar, atmosphere and cinematic restraint. The track represents the discovery of a new, imaginary habitat: a lunar sea, an unseen coastline. The song is very simple, but for me it was important to start from this track, for emotional reasons. January relseases
Hi everyone, happy new year :) I thought I'd start a January release thread as I've seen some juicy guitarwaver releases this month. I had to drop off my bi-weekly schedule because university and work were throwing me off for a moment but I'm finally back. This song marks a milestone for me bc it's the first time I wrote a song in a time-signature completely new to me and managed to finish it to Spotify without months of overthinking. Anyone can guess what time-signature it is? :) https://open.spotify.com/track/6V3MgE6vMi9fITXBm6Hpz2?si=f858c0cc85c74876 It's also the first song where I live-streamed part of the songwriting on TikTok and it was a surprisingly pleasant experience I recommend trying out if you're curious. It felt like writing with a band a little bit because finally I was not sitting alone on my computer but had some social surrounding at least virtually. Might do that more often in the future. Make sure to drop your releases below so @Sebastian Jautschus can add them to his guitarwave playlist (and I started one as well ;) ) Hope everyone's good and looking forward to more active times in this beautiful community!

Newbie
Hi everyone! I am a 42-year-old learning guitar for the first time (started 2 weeks ago) and have recently come across Sebastian's music (youtube/tiktok/spotify), which has inspired me to become an instrumental guitar player. I just wanted to introduce myself and say hi! I live in Canberra, Australia, married with 3 kids and 2 doggies. I work full-time, have my own Photography business and love to learn! I just finished my Uni degree last year and have been looking for the next thing to learn - I have always wanted to learn guitar, and now I'm loving it!! It's been so nice reading all your posts, and I am so glad to be part of this wonderful community. Thank you for having me! I am learning on my second-hand guitars: a Yamaha acoustic (FG800) and a Yamaha Pacifica electric. I have a BOSS Katana 50 amp, which I am trying to tune for this style, getting there, but not quite dialled in. I am liking the amp that Sebastian has been using: the Yamaha THR30IIWL - the wireless and portability aspect is really selling it to me. Anyways, that is me. Hope you are all well and will speak to you soon. Scott Insta: @scotthhr

Welcome Scott, nice to meet you! :)
happy new year my dear guitarwavers 🫶🏼
may we all be blessed with making beautiful music, finding great sound, others who think so too, and lots of relaxed energy this year 😇 here's a little 2026 community direction preview/brainstorming video. TL;DR (for the ones that don't want to watch the whole 20 min) - december was quiet because of a needed break, podcast work, and covid — but the community was very much on my mind. - goal for 2026: grow guitarwavers in a natural, alive, and collective way. - I’d love to revive the monthly focus topics (one shared topic per month + end-of-month recap call + fitting podcast guest). - new idea: monthly feedback / demo calls where we listen to works-in-progress together and give live feedback (much easier than text). - core principle stays: all information should remain free — this is the resource I wish I’d had when I started my instrumental guitar journey. - to make the community sustainable, I’m exploring optional monetization, e.g.: - I want to build a stronger base structure, so the community doesn’t wobble when more people join. - longer-term ideas: more structured classroom content, possible future classes (e.g. music ads with sky valley records — very early idea). - I’m thinking about community roles for members who would like to help shape and co-run the space. - big picture: guitarwavers should be a safe, calm place to recharge, learn, grow, and feel connected in a noisy world. your feedback/thoughts are very welcome — let’s build this together 🦦
