Lessons LearnedšŸ“
Heading into the new week gives us opportunities to reflect not only on the times of triumph but also the lessons learned. Being a forever student is essential in equine coaching! This field is constantly growing and changing so to be the best coaches for our clients we have to be open to learning. Whether the lessons come from a training or from a session with a client, they are all important! So I challenge you to think and share about a learning opportunity you had last week and how you are going to adapt because of the lesson learned from that experience. Was it... 🐓the way you interpreted how a horse was communicating with you about a client? šŸ“how to adapt an activity to meet the needs of a specific client? šŸ§˜ā€ā™€ļøto give yourself grace when you feel overwhelmed by the goals you have set for your business? Let's hear it! šŸ‘‡

@Julie Fitzpatrick this is such a great example of a lesson learned from your experience. I love how you are looking for other ways to adapt the spiritual wellness in with the horses. There are some great guides and curriculums to look for! Way to use resources to grow your knowledge :)

@Health Coach Heather this is such a good reminder to use our breath to get out of our heads. In times of stress our minds run a mile a minute which can make it easy to spiral. We need good people to remind us that we need to take it one step at a time.
Tagging off hump day...
@Health Coach Heather @Christina Beaubien @Delena Austin Lately I’ve been thinking about equestrians—our lives are a beautiful whirlwind of hoofbeats and hay bales, and somehow, we’re still trying to keep the house as clean as the barn. (Honestly, the barn's winning.) Every day feels like a juggling act: barn chores, keeping a dog from redecorating the living room with mud, trying to make a dinner everyone likes—even though there's always one who suddenly hates pasta this week. So how do we find time for the extras—those classes, courses, or catch-up reading that nourish us but never shout as loud as the laundry? For me, it starts with delegation. I’ve got a fleet of robot vacuums that spring into action the moment I walk out to the barn. They’re the unsung heroes, scrubbing away the chaos while I wrangle hay and humans. Living ten paces from the first stable means a lot gets dragged inside... though if you're also an equestrian, you totally get it. I swear by Audible. Whether I’m mucking stalls or on the road, I sneak in a chapter or two. Lately, I’ve started blocking out ā€˜Lesson Time’ on my calendar—a sacred hour to do something that matters to me. No guilt, just growth. So I’m curious—what’s in your toolkit? Whether it’s hacks, humor, or holy grail habits, I’d love to hear what keeps you riding the whirlwind without losing your reins.😁

Wow @Julie Fitzpatrick!!! I couldn't love your honesty more! I feel this in my soul! I love how you are using things to help you delegate tasks that need to be done (thank you Rumba!) and that you plan out time for YOU! Whether it's professional development or just down time to "Fill Your Cup", you are making YOU a priority! I learned a lot from last year how burnout can happen, no matter how much you love your career! I vowed to never let that happen again because it was not only affecting my passion for this amazing career path I've wanted forever, but it was affecting how I was interacting with my family. This year, I needed to make peace my priority. In January of this year, I had to reevaluate where my time was being dedicated to in my work. If it was causing me stress and aggravation, I scratched it out! I mapped out my year in pencil, knowing I could change it or add to it if I WANTED to, and by just doing that, I could breathe. By refocusing what I wanted, I have found that clients and families are coming to me that match my mission and I am actually wayyyyy happier. No guilt, no fuss, just pure JOY! I do my professional development thanks to podcasts and audible in the truck running my girls around to our next adventure for the day, and I do a lot of my Skool work outside while they craft or play, just as the picture shows. I try really hard not to go over my designated work time for the day so I can still be present for my girls. And after my individual sessions are done and the girls go to bed, I try to sneak in some horse time for myself, whether it's a ride in the woods, groundwork with fun obstacles, or just "being" with my horse in the pasture. The reality of this is we can never pour from an empty cup and the best way to do that is to understand our time is precious. Yes, we need to work hard and yes it does take some late nights, blood, sweat, and tears to make our businesses successful but we NEED our time to reboot our minds and bodies to come back at it stronger in every aspect.

@Julie Fitzpatrick I couldn't love this more!!! Good for you Julie! I get is as an "in recovery" people pleaser saying "no" is soul crushing because you don't want people to feel any sort of negative feeling because of something said or a decision you made. But at the end of the day, you as well as your family are what matter most to you and being present for them is the best decision ever! I love the list idea, especially if you want to keep certain tasks in perspective. Just make sure to keep that pencil handy with a good eraser because life happens...as we all know. So close your eyes, breathe in and out, and let go of what is out of your control.
Yay! Fun Friday Activity šŸŽ‰
Wow! I cannot believe it is already Friday, but you know what that means???? You get another activity ready to use on your farm TODAY 😁 This one is great if you're client is ready for setting goals either in their everyday life or on your farm with a specific horse they are working with! It can be a great visual to show the connection between the goal itself and the steps they can take to achieve it! This is meant to be client directed with you guiding them through the process. If the client is free to make their own choices and share their own ideas, the more meaningful the goal is and the more successful they will be. This activity sheet can also be found in our Big Book of Activities. If you like this one, there are sooooo many others available to you so make sure you check it out! If you have a client, who is a more kinesthetic (hands-on) learner you can also map it out in your arena/enclosed space. This is a great way to incorporate the horse into this activity for the client to receive their support as well as additional opportunities to work with their horse. I have included a sample picture of the layout, but you can use other obstacles than what is pictured. Which option do you think would benefit your clients' more, writing on the activity sheet, or mapping it out in an enclosed space? Share your ideas in the comments! We'd love to hear from you!

āœØļøYou Are Worthy āœØļø Book Club Option...
You know what we need to tell ourselves more...I Am Worthy! Have you read the book, Worthy: How To Believe You Are Enough and Transform Your Life? This author, Jamie Kern Lima, overcame all odds in the business world because she was motivated by her passion to help others see the beauty in themselves. She is now a motivational speaker, author, and friends with Oprah 😁 She explains her journey in a very relatable way and speaks a lot about the obstacles she overcame becaue she refused to let the word, "no" stop her from obtaining her goals I'm pressing play on this audio book I started a while back but didn't quiet finish, because...well...my life is not my own at times. Like all of us, our businessss are our passion. It can be easy to love, eat, and breathe our business because it is our passion. We want to make it perfect and hemp as many clients as we can. It becomes personal, sometimes too much so that we let our feelings rest on how well our businesses is doing. This can make us scared to take the leap because we think... 🚫What if my investors say "no"? 🚫What if I make a mistake? 🚫What if I can't reach the clients I want? 🚫What if it's too hard to branch out on my own? These thoughts are real and even this author had them while her business was close to bankruptcy! But if she had listened to those negative thoughts, those opportunities for success would have never come! I think I picked it up again because I needed to hear that I am worthy again and this book did just that! It reminded me that... šŸ’•I am capable šŸ’•I am determined šŸ’•I am enough ā¤ļøJUST LIKE YOU! ā¤ļø So if you're in the "What If" mode of your business, believe me, you're not alone! Let's read this together and bring our WISE Book Club back with a bang! What do you all think?

šŸ•Šļø New Podcast Episode: Honoring Our Herd Members & Supporting Clients Through Grief
šŸ•Šļø New Podcast Episode: Honoring Our Herd Members & Supporting Clients Through Grief Hi everyone, I just released a new episode of the podcast that’s close to my heart. Recently, we lost Grace, one of the miniature horses at Saving Grace Miniature Horse Rescue. She was only 6 years old, and her passing left a huge hole in the herd and in all of our hearts. In this episode, I share:✨ Grace’s story and how her loss impacted our community✨ Rituals and ways we can honor herd members who’ve passed✨ Supporting children and clients when they’re grieving✨ Caring for the remaining horses and yourself during this time✨ How these moments can shape the grief and loss programs we offer. This is a tough topic, but it’s something every horse professional faces at some point. My hope is that this conversation helps you feel less alone and gives you ideas for rituals and support when the time comes. šŸŽ§ Listen right in your Classroom or right here. šŸ’¬ I’d love to hear from you—what rituals or traditions have you used when saying goodbye to a beloved horse? Please share in the comments below. With gratitude, Delena
