True Allies
The cost for standing up for the truth... Would you as a white presenting person... Make the sacrifice? Side with Black folks as True Allies.. Time for a white presenting history lesson... What???? Well a friend asked, what are some good things... Examples of White Folks who stood in integrity... I desire to heal our world... Know representation matters There's a difference between white people and White Folks... This repoetry work is about a good White person... Maybe if they taught this part of America's history. Maybe more white presenting people would be better humans.. They could see examples of GOD's love in their hue. The life of Charles Sumner... He grew up with a great example of empathy... His Father an attorney who reared him in Beacon Hill.. A majority Black neighborhood in Boston... Listening to the injustices happening to our Ancestors in America... His Father told him, freeing those enslaved without out equality is another form of injustice. Believed with every fiber of his being... Every person, given the opportunity can improve themselves... Taught him, Moral law was important for government... He knew enslavement and segregation were evil... A tree producing good fruit.. Charles Sumner gave with heart, soul and body, as an Abolitionist. He ministry and mission started early in life... Shaped by his travels as he witness Black greatness in other nations.… Concluded after witnessing 3 Black men giving lectures and speeches... The difference between these Men and Black Americans was access to education... Returned to America knowing equality, education and the power of the vote must obtained for his melinated Brothers... Founded the Radical Republicans who rallied against their own a party.. Was known has the Conscious faction of the Whig party of MA... Built coalitions with anti-slavery Whigs and Democrats... Even his friend Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, was fascinated by his powerful oratory work.. Sumner stood 6'-4" imposing with a clear and strong voice..

After starting to develop spoken language. I babbled a lot between the ages two to three. Then for infantile reasons I shied away. Needing information, whilst at risk giving it away. Spoken language now came with a price tag, As too often the wails and cries of a child do. Cruel words all sound the same. Didn't listen. Focused on a multi layered blank canvas, So I never missed a hint or breeze of change. An eyes look, an expression expressed behind. The turn preempted by a sense of pressure; Fear memory alerting muscle memory. Catch the release to ease by a close peer. The direction of the storm is not them but me. For the witness of, encountered nice people, The gentlest embrace, declaring just you wait. The hidden tone, of when we get home, Painted in detail across the softest motherly face. Most valuable nurturing in communication. Later I found I knew how to read every non sound. A hundred unspoken conversations in a crowd. Hidden sadness and still to be revealed joy. I speak now with my ugly mother tongue; Listening to words said before the speakings’ begun.
Legacy
I’ll just leave you this, a little scribble about legacy. Legacy, opportunity for those to come Or a little pride for those already gone. If I can create safety for others that's all the legacy I need. Have you ever tripped on a footprint? I owned a shire horse once, William. Biggest horse breed in the world, huge feet. Huge prints, distracted, I've tripped on a few. Avoid unnecessary footprints others fall over. Other than that footprints leave little impression at all, Unless fossilized they will eventually wash away. Penniless and possessionless we all come and go. Will I die in peace? No I will live on for eternity “Take only memories, leave only footprints”. Chief Seattle Legacy, opportunity for those to come, Or pride for those already gone. If I leave nothing I bequeath no danger If remembered for treading firmly but softly. Causing no harm to what no one can own Opportunity for those after to receive less in spoil. Of what we are all intimately part of. The consistency of intimacy amongst people. None of us can bequeath what none of us can own
