Navigating panic
Hey community. As a fresh facilitator I struggle a lot with what is my exact offer and what are the benefits. It's strange because I have a bunch of workshops recipes but I struggle so much with what is my SPECIFIC offer to the market. The offer needs to be genuine and come from experience as well as fit the market but what market?! I've been getting a lot of compliments on my listening skills and my energy which is basically 50% of the workshop. But answering the question "what do they get out?" Is so daunting. Yeah they feel better but what do they get in their hands, what kind of practical thing will they have that will change their life just a little bit. I had a number of workshops on different topics (for free) and they were all successful. But now that Im becoming a professional my ADHD is going mad. I know fixing the offer is a manageable task but it's also easy to pull hair on it. If you go this far, could you please like this post, I'm trying to get to level 3 to unlock a course 🙏

I absolutely know this pain, @Uros Micic ! Working with @Nathy Ravez was valuable to being able to get clear on this, but I put a pause on it to explore being an internal facilitator instead. From my time working with Nathy, what I found valuable is to start with you. What lights you up? What do you enjoy? What's your zone of genius? From that look at: What problems have you helped people solve in the past? Where specifically did you help them get to? (I also like to think of this from the point of transformation: Where did they start and where did they end in a session/workshop?) If you're an empath and people person who just loves working with people and haven't every niched down, starting with just ONE type of client will be mahoosively beneficial to help calm the ADHD anxieties. It brings direction and focus, for now, and you can always switch up along the way. You just need a single entry/starting point. If you want to talk this through further, feel free to reach out.
Butter, anyone? 🧈
I might be late to the Butter party, but I've recently discovered it and I absolutely LOVE it so far. The nature of interaction feels a lot easier to develop psychological safety in virtual sessions and seems more fun. Does anyone else use Butter or has used Butter? What did you like or dislike about it?

It's so cool to see this post resurface a year later after jumping into the Butter pool. I love it, and love the development it's gone through in the past year. 🙂

What do you do with yourself, when everyone is writing/working?--in-person
I am wondering what others primarily do while in-person participants are working? Do you look off into the distance? Look around at the participants with a pleasant expression? Look at your notes and plan for the next activity? Walk around like an overseer/proctor? Doodle? 😂 I am just wondering how to be neither distracting nor awkward when the focus is not on me. 🤔

I take a much-needed pause to recentre/ground myself, then check the pulse of the room through observation. I might float to groups who seem less engaged than others, otherwise I simply trust the wisdom in the room and maintain an openness so they know I'm still there and can support if needed.
I facilitated my first workshop!
I manage a 1400 head goat dairy with 9 employees. I switched our normal monthly meeting where I do all of the talking to an LDJ. The team decided on issue, created a solution and by the end of the day they completed the actions steps to make it happen. And of course their main issue was something I did not expect. Some folks were a bit reluctant in the beginning of the session but at the very end everyone wanted to jump into the next HMW question. We are definitely going to be running more of these! Thank you @Aj Smart for the fundamentals course and this community for your experience. We’re hooked!

Amazing! 👏🏾
Out of the blue...
Hey FC, So out of the blue I had a call from a former student (I taught in higher ed) and a past colleague (held similar roles in a sister University) about holding a workshop for them. Back in the day I used to hold a 10-day Design Thinking bootcamp for 100 university undergrads in the summers. They are looking for a 1/2 day session, in-person (I prefer remote) and I am trying to do them a favour. I was thinking of still using Butter.us to run the session and I am fairly comfortable with what I am going to present but I am hung up on price. I don't really need the work but I also don't want to undersell myself. In my past consulting life (circa 2010) I would charge $2500 USD a day or normally by the project so like $9-18K. Thoughts?? D

@D Darren MacDonald Sounds awesome! Congrats! 🙌🏾 How about framing it as a gift as opposed to tripwire? 🙂
