"Choose Portugal if you want, but please choose" (Portugal Resident article)
I have quoted @James 'AnOldGuyinEurope' Holley this week in my Resident column which begins... "Did you see that recent UK Guardian ‘article’: “Why are so many Americans moving to Portugal? Apart from the obvious reason…”? And did it irk you like it irked me? There are a number of things about the headline alone that congest the craw, as it were. “So many”, for a start, is such an unhelpful and subjective pair of words, and don’t get me started about the “obvious reason”, at least not yet, which is as crass as it’s clever in drawing in the reader, like a mouse to cheese-topped trap ... More." To put the gist of my piece another way, "know your why" as @Veronica - Ondrejech recently shared, also on Good Morning Portugal! It's really important for best results 😉 Have a great weekend, bom fim de semana 😘 PS Another community member has also been busy writing, see: "Breakfast of the Damned: Tavira Edition". Can you guess who it is?

Re the PS: Frankly, I have a strong suspicion who is writing about Loja #11 at the Tavira Mercado.

AIMA update special (Thursday), managing mo(u)ld (special offer) & new video from a special expat talent
Olá bom dia, tudo bem? Lots going on here, including... - There's a new mold management gang in town, see video 👇 from our new Monday evening show with @Ben Austin - Find Your Home in Portugal - that showcased 'Damp Guard', who are offering our community a free survey and 100 euros off installations. Any questions, ask @Jay Wolf, who's now an expert-in-residence. - There's an Expats Portugal AIMA special on Thursday focusing on all those seemingly endless and ever-changing details that Portugal's immigration authority are requiring at the moment - more here - and let me know if you want the discount code for signing up. - A great new tune from Christopher Maloney dropped today with a hilarious video. Very grateful to @Debby Bradford for turning us onto this US talent, now living in Portugal. See video 👇 Keep those Portuguese pains and pleasures coming in, let's share the load and spread the love 😎

Northern Portugal Destinations?
Visitors coming in early October will spend a few days with us in Tavira. We then intend to drive north of Lisbon for explorations. I am seeking a hub city from which we can spend about five days going to villages/towns for historical, cultural, cuisine and hiking/aquatic adventures before flying out of Porto. One thought is staying near Coimbra and making trips to Tomar, Castelo Branco, Aveiro, Leiria and Viseu. Seeking your input for a hub an spokes sited north of Porto. Thanks in advance for your input.

More info following a chat last night with our visitors: Their visit is too brief, giving us only three nights up north. Braga will be the base. One day is trip to Viana do Castelo and Ponte de Lima. Another day is immersing in the Parque. The third day is Chaves, with Guimarães on the way there or back. Perhaps you can direct us to other must-see places as we loop to these sites. Thanks in advance for your time. FYI, this message has been sent to Vitor Costa, with whom I am speaking on 4 Aug. All input is valued.
