OOTD 👔
OOTD - Tuesday 12 May
Another WFH day. I wanted to showcase my new OTAA tie, so I have gone with a mostly blue outfit and a crisp, clean white shirt to make the tie pop that little bit more. Todays outdoor consists of; M.J. Bale Cappellari Suit with Peaked Lapel in a Mid Blue Hue. It's crafted from 100% wool that is woven in Italy, with a soft shoulder and half canvas construction. Well, this feels churlish, but two points offer opportunities for an even better presentation. - The jacket's/coat's sleeves do really need some tailoring to shorten them to the length of your arms. There's too much creasing and not enough shirt cuff, which we would love to see. - The clip-on braces/suspenders look a little makeshift and flimsy, and it would be marvellous to see button-ons instead. I know that it's a chore, adding buttons inside the waistband of one's trousers./pants, but the benefits in terms of stylistic coherence are well worth it.
Style Battle: Navy Suit vs. Charcoal Grey Suit? (Pick One & Why)
Gentlemen, if you could only own ONE suit for the rest of your life, which would it be? 👔⚔️ Two iconic suit colors. Two very different statements. And every well-dressed man has an opinion. THE NAVY SUI: Versatile, confident, and universally flattering. Navy reads as both formal and approachable, making it equally at home in a boardroom, at a wedding, or on a first date. Pair it with brown shoes for a classic look, or white sneakers for a modern edge. It's the suit that does everything. THE CHARCOAL GREY SUIT: The ultimate power suit. Serious, authoritative, and razor-sharp. Charcoal grey carries an undeniable gravitas that navy simply can't match — it's the suit you wear when you need to command a room. With a white shirt and black shoes, it's untouchable. The question: Which suit earns the single spot in your wardrobe — and why? Vote your pick below 👇 and tell me what outfit you'd build around it!

Actually, neither of these is much use. They are both too dark for everyday wear. They are both too serious for everyday wear. Mid-grey or mid-blue are far more usable. Buying both charcoal and navy is a waste of money, because they both do the same job. Far better to choose one, and combine with a mid-colour version, and a light-colour one for those south-of-Italy summer weddings that most of us never seem to get invited to. The hue (blue or grey) doesn't really matter: It's the level of formality (the darkness/lightness) which will differentiate one suit from another and make it suitable for different tasks.
Fat-sausage time
While I was pleased with the shoulder width and chest sizing of this herringbone suit, a photo from behind has revealed that I'll need to shed a few kilos to achieve to look good in this cut. The chest-to-waist drop is too much for my current body, resulting in that unsightly rippling across the back. Dobell is probably not the brand for me. The arms don't hang very well either, but that's sometimes something that one can live with on an economical suit.

Where do you shop?
Especially the European people here. Looking to find a new brand with a nice casual business style. Preferably online shoppable with good quality price relation and some unique flair to it.

Charles Tyrwhitt might suit you, as @Desmond Hui mentioned.
