Posting great content isn't enough to create engagement. (Sorry.)
Build an amazing community. Post awesome content. Members will show up and start commenting. That's how it works, right? 𝗪𝗥𝗢𝗡𝗚!! The one thing I notice consistently across so many communities, are community owners asking "𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝗜 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗺𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲?" We've been told that it's a simple matter of posting stuff that they want to comment on. But quite honestly it doesn't always work that way. The reality is that as a community owner, 𝘄𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲 in our communities. One thing I do in every single post is include a CTA (𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯) that tells my members exactly how to engage in the comments. I don't leave it open by saying "what's your thoughts" or "anyone else?" 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲. Instead, I create something 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰, something 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗯𝘃𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗱. For example: 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗧𝗔𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀? Drop a comment below and tell me how you teach your members to engage with your content... or tell us where you're getting stuck! 👇

@Rose Colbourne my idea originally was the schizoaffectives would like to join and meet other schizoaffectives cuz we are mostly lonely and In pockets by ourselves.
Running a Skool community is intense!!!
So I posted and ghosted on ya'll yesterday, not once... 𝗕𝗨𝗧 𝗧𝗪𝗜𝗖𝗘!!! But I'm back today and I'll be getting caught up on everything inside our community and we have some awesome things coming up. 💬 𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗵𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼𝗼?

@Rose Colbourne it's like growing a family. My grandma said you get to pick your friends but not your family. On Skool nobody is your friend but everybody is your friend. And for a price a whole new dream. A mentor, life coach, teacher. But like humans need humans and as far as networking goes, the internet is the best tool and people are going to use it. None of this double speak of I use AI I don't use AI. Communities aren't people they are hybrids, augmented and aligned with the ideas of a machine. As much as a fine artist I want to be I can't ignore what is available to me to exercise my creativity and err ........power? I don't know. Skool has peaked my interest and I peer at it from behind my guitar and I peer at it from behind my drawings and I peer at it from behind my writing. I can't not know.

@Rose Colbourne what does it mean to not treat the members of your community as real people? As a person living with schizoaffective disorder I'm going to have a lot of trouble understanding what a real person is. I know there are people behind the machines. But I also know they are kind of hybrids of AI. And also that they're trying to sell something. And also that they might want something or are looking for something. But I don't really know what that is. I thought maybe they wanted some way past the negative symptoms. But no one has said anything about that except me. So I'm still searching for what my members might want. Not that I can provide it for them even but that schizoaffectives want something........? Not sure.
Standard Rules
Out of the rules I read in the classroom they all seemed fair. I need to revamp my rules: No soliciting No advertising No DMing members (I forget what @Rose Colbourne put) No advising others or guru type behavior This is a den for schizoaffectives so let them hold the light. Do not trauma dump Do not harass or troll people Do not post and ghost to make a point No one is allowed to consul anyone If you are a therapist you can't do your therapy here I want this to be a safe place for schizoaffectives No psychiatric suggestions No seeking psychiatric help from others I have to think on this I'm not so sure about any of these rules.

I don't want the rules to repel people. Schizoaffectives don't really follow rules anyway. I think the container needs to have a bit of freedom. And forgiveness. If a schizoaffective lands here he or she will stay if? Hmmmm. Well I stayed in your group because you're informative. But I'm not informative. I do experience what another schizoaffective experiences. I know myself. Do I know schizoaffectives? I was thinking maybe do something different with the rules. Like a call to action or a humorous approach or something that would make a schizoaffective stay.

@Rose Colbourne make it clear to someone who suffers from schizoaffective disorder Here’s a clearer, more accessible version while keeping a structured tone: - No soliciting or advertising - Do not send direct messages to members unless invited - Do not give advice, coaching, or act as a “guru” - No therapy or psychiatric guidance, including asking for or offering it - No harassment, trolling, or hostile behavior - Avoid trauma dumping (sharing overwhelming or highly intense content without context or consent) - Do not post and disappear without engaging respectfully - This space is for people with schizoaffective disorder—please respect and support that focus

I'm stealing your idea and changing into a school. Just kidding. Schizoaffectives probably like school even less then psychiatric wards. Some of the value I find here I can't implement or it would be copying. My question for this community and other communities that have joined this community is when is an idea "takable". I know that's not a word I coined it for this post. What I mean is...... What am I allowed to copy and what am I not allowed to copy? If you are a community owner what is your opinion on the value in your community?

📌 START HERE: Welcome to the Skool Homeroom! 🍎
This community is built for people who want to actually learn, implement, and grow — not just scroll and collect ideas. Before you jump into everything, take a minute to introduce yourself so we can get to know you. You can do this in one of two ways: - Create a new post under the Roll Call category and introduce yourself. - Leave a comment below this post with your introduction. A few easy prompts if you're not sure what to say: - Your name - Where you're from - What you're currently working on - One thing you hope to learn here - Your favorite Skool memory Then head over to the New Student Orientation module in the Classroom. That lesson will show you how everything in the community works and where to begin. As you engage in the community you earn points from other members responding to your posts and comments which will help you unlock your first mystery gift. Looking forward to meeting you. @Marco Mannucci My skool is for schizoaffectives and others. I was going to go with the psych ward theme but that might not be great for people "who don't like hospital". You can find my group here https://www.skool.com/mystery-box-2739/about
