Sh** in - Sh** out?
You can have the best data model and the best business logics in place, but if garbage data comes in, the output is also often useless, especially for unexpected garbage. What are your strategies to deal with that?

That's the great part about being a CRM consultant. You have a lot of impact on the data that goes in, can establish useable business keys etc. What certainly helps is ownership of the data by the same people that own the BI reports, based on the report, like in a Mesh Approach. However, that of course isn't that simple, but clear ownership in general can help. And of course good consulting and project leads who create and develop the source systems. Also great are Data Quality dashboards for the operational teams, which show basically all records that need fixing. If the same people have to clean the data as the one adding it, that usually helps in improving the entry of data in the future. Of course there is much more types of data in every company. There is also much much more you can do. But the important part is to get the info on bad data to the owners of the source to (at least try) to fix the issues in the beginning instead of only building more and more complex logic to fix everything in the data platform.
Data Vault is dead!
I hear more and more people asking why you should do all the overhead of creating a Data Vault on modern data platforms. They often argue, that when having a persistent data lake and a modern data platform, which allows virtualizing everything on top of the lake, you don't need a Data Vault. What's your take on this?

Obviously that's bs. Great technology may solve certain issues, but it cannot be a replacement for data management. We don't do Data Vault to solve technology issues but to address business challenges and to create a solid foundation for a trusted and scalable data platform, bigger enterprises can leverage to gain insights, support operational processes and to create new products (and more).

For those who are unaware: DORA = The Digital Operational Resilience Act (Wiki Article), which is an active EU regulation😉
Have you tried Whisk yet? (google labs)
https://blog.google/technology/google-labs/whisk/ (image generated with Whisk) FYI, to generate the image I uploaded my profile pic, the skool logo and a "high tech lab" image i found on google along with a super simple prompt "subject working on an AI project for Skool". Most likely could produce better results with a more descriptive prompt.
