Sorry< if this is a silly question...
Hello Fellow Warriors!! I'd love your advice on which category I should put myself into. I started out as a "Hobbies" community then Skool determined that I'm actually in the money category. (Booo!!!) In your directory, should I still place my community description in Money? I doubt anyone looking for help with their craft market business is going to be looking in that category.

I think "Animals" deserve their own category!
Why I do it.
Working with animals isn't easy. As a wildlife rehabilitator, you have about a 50% chance of successfully raising an orphaned animal to the point it can be released. Every baby you take in comes with hope and the risk of heartbreak. Then, if you succeed, another kind of heartbreak begins. You open that carrier, watch them disappear into the wild, and wonder, "Did I do enough? Will they make it?" I'm only a parent of paws, but if you've ever raised children or become an empty nester, you probably understand that feeling. You do everything you can, then you have to let them go and trust they'll find their own way. For five years I rehabilitated wildlife for All Things Wild while also serving as their grant writer. Finding money for animals is never easy. People often think nonprofits simply apply for grants and the money appears. Most grants are small, and fundraisers and community support are what keep the doors open. Before wildlife rehabilitation, I founded a feral cat rescue, created the 501(c)(3), raised the money, trapped cats, organized adoptions, and helped more than 500 cats. I've lived this work from every angle. That's why I know it takes a community to save animals. So why do I do what I do? Because I can't imagine my life without animals. And I can't imagine reaching the end of my life knowing I didn't fully use the gifts GOD gave me to help them. That's why I created Empowering Animals. I know I can't save them all. But together, we can save far more than any of us could alone.
Why I do it.

The animals need us....and we need them! Thank you for all that you do for them ๐Ÿ’•
๐ŸŽฏ Right Place. Right People.
It's Friday and it's time to have a lil' fun! Here's the challenge for all members: Scroll through the comments below and find at least one Skool community you've never heard of before. If it looks like a great fit for you, go check it out. If it's not for you but someone immediately comes to mind, tag them and tell them why you thought of them for this community (maybe they love what this community is all about, maybe you see a collaboration opportunity) The goal isn't to get everyone to join everything. It's to help the right people discover the right communities. Share a few Skool community you think deserves more attention. Tell us: โœจ What it's about โœจ Why you think more people should know about it โœจ Your community link (referral links are welcome!) Let's see how many new connections we can create today!

Giving Yourself Credit
When I was about seven years old, my sister said to me in a very condescending voice, "You care more about animals than you do people." I don't remember what I did to earn that lashing, but I remember how it wounded my soul. I was seven years old, and my big sister was essentially telling me there was something fundamentally wrong with my love for animals. For years, I believed I would leave this beautiful planet with my passion still trapped inside me. That changed this past weekend. I stopped and looked back at everything I've already been blessed to do for the animals recently and I had an life affirming moment. I still have dreams of doing so much more, but refusing to give myself credit for what I've already accomplished isn't fair to those dreams. โ€ข Founding a feral cat rescue and TNR program, helping more than 500 cats. โ€ข Rehabilitating orphaned and injured wildlife in Texas. โ€ข Working with birds of prey in Washington. โ€ข Becoming an ordained Animal Chaplain. โ€ข Serving as the chaplain for Animals as Natural Therapy. โ€ข Creating Empowering Animals to connect people with trusted organizations making a difference. โ€ข Writing a children's book to help people see skunks as the magnificent animals they are. โ€ข Building free resources to help people find rescues and wildlife rehabilitators when animals need help. They say you don't know what you have until you measure it. Maybe there's something in your own life that you're overlooking. Maybe your passion isn't waiting for someday. Maybe you're already living it. Give yourself credit.
