🚨 Stop Publishing Random Books
One of the biggest mistakes I made early in my Amazon KDP journey was jumping from niche to niche instead of building authority around a specific audience. I published books on all kinds of topics because they sounded interesting, but that approach made it much harder to gain momentum. Once I started focusing on related topics and creating multiple books for the same audience, sales became much more consistent. A few key takeaways: ✅ Don't just publish books—build a strategy. ✅ Focus on an audience, not just a single book idea. ✅ Think about how one book can lead to your next book. ✅ Consider how your books can support a business, community, coaching program, or personal brand. 🔍 Research First with Publisher Rocket 🏫 Create Your own Skool Community The authors who build the strongest publishing businesses often aren't chasing random opportunities—they're creating an ecosystem of books that work together. 🤔 Question: If you could become known for ONE topic or niche as an author, what would it be, and why did you choose that niche?

@Adil El khadri Thank you for sharing that, Adil. What stands out to me is that your book isn't just telling stories it's preserving a legacy. Readers are often drawn to that kind of authenticity because they can feel the emotion behind every memory. From my experience working with authors, books like yours have a unique opportunity to connect with readers on a deeper level, but they also benefit from having a clear visibility and launch strategy so the right audience can discover them. Have you started thinking about your plans for publication and reader outreach yet? For example, things like a launch roadmap, audience building, email marketing, or how you'll introduce the book to readers once it's released?

@Krista Brea That sounds like a smart place to start, especially since he already has experience running businesses in that space. Having real world knowledge of the subject can make the content much more valuable and practical for readers. Property maintenance is also one of those topics where people are constantly looking for solutions to specific problems, so I can see why he chose it. I'm curious, is he planning to write from his own experience in the industry, or is he taking more of a research-based approach for the book?

We could all use a little accountability - Including myself ❤️ Read the questions then grab the template at the bottom and make a post 🗒️ 1️⃣ What is **one specific thing** you completed on your book this week? Examples: * Finalized my book topic * Chose my main keyword + category * Wrote 1,200 words * Edited Chapter 1 * Uploaded my manuscript draft 2️⃣ What is the one thing you can commit to finishing by next week? Examples: * Write 2 chapters * Finish book outline * Draft my book description * Collect 10 competitor book screenshots 3️⃣ One blocker - What slowed you down or got in your way this week? This gives you: * Content ideas * Coaching opportunities * Workshop themes * DM conversations for higher-level support 4️⃣ Where are you at right now? 🔥 On track 🟡 Progress but slow 🔴 Stuck 🧠 Overthinking ⏸️ Life happened Drop your update below 👇 (Keep it short — progress > perfection) 1️⃣ **One thing you completed this week:** 2️⃣ **One thing you’re committing to finish next week:** 3️⃣ **Any blocker slowing you down? (optional)** 4️⃣ **Status emoji:** 🔥 🟡 🔴 🧠 ⏸️ I’ll be reviewing these to and helping to move you forward!

@Amanda Owens I've really enjoyed hearing about your book and the story behind it. One thing I've noticed from working with authors is that many spend months or years writing a great book but don't start thinking about visibility until after publication. In most cases, the strongest results come from having a launch roadmap, audience-building strategy, and email marketing system in place before the book goes live. I'm curious, have you given any thought yet to how you'll introduce the book to readers once it's ready? Are you planning to build an email list, create a launch strategy, or put together a marketing roadmap before publication?

@Amanda Owens Thank you for sharing that so openly. I can see that your focus is very different from many authors, and honestly, I think that's what makes your project special. You're not writing this book to chase rankings or sales numbers you're writing it to serve a specific group of mothers who have been on your heart for years. I also think it's amazing how clearly you know your mission. Whether it's your practice, your Skool community, or this book, it sounds like you've learned to trust the direction you're being given rather than forcing things. What really stood out to me was your goal of having books in the hands of those Amish and Mennonite mothers by March. That sounds like a very clear and meaningful target. I'm curious, once the manuscript is finished, what do you think will be the biggest hurdle between now and getting those books into their hands?
Okay .. i need some help or advise
I love creating children story books. ... now i was thinking of turning all those digital books into actual books and sell them Etsy or KDP actually publish it . is there a course in that helps me follow the KDP way of publishing something that helps take me fro. A-Z . And also is there something that points me in the direction of how to search what is best selling or what people are looking for as that will alsk help me . N3xt questions.. which is better KDP or self publishing with Lulu or is there a publishing house like self publishing if you live in the UK? Thank you . @Kittie KaBoom Wow, you definitely have a lot going on! It sounds like you're involved in several creative projects at once, which is exciting but also a lot to manage. I think it's smart that you stepped back when you realized the stories and layouts weren't connecting with your target audience. Sometimes taking a pause and coming back with fresh eyes is the best move. Your sketch comedy troupe, visual podcast, and voice-over work all sound really interesting. It seems like storytelling is a big part of everything you do. I'm curious, out of all those projects, which one are you most passionate about right now?

@Kittie KaBoom That's awesome! You can really feel the passion when someone talks about the thing they love most. Voice-over acting sounds like such a creative field, especially since you get to bring characters and stories to life in a unique way. What kind of voice-over work do you enjoy the most commercials, audiobooks, animation, or character work?
