How’s your client onboarding?
We spend so much time thinking about how to attract clients and get them to say yes, but what happens once they do? When someone signs up to work with you, do you have a set process that takes them from becoming a client to their first session, or has your onboarding just developed naturally as your business has grown? How would you describe your client onboarding?

@Naomi Kreske Me too. I'm working on building one.
Newbie question: Are recordings and/or transcripts required?
I was under the impression that I need to keep a transcript in case of any repercussions. I've included it in my client agreement but I personally don't want to record or transcribe the sessions. Thank you for the advice!

@Colin Yearwood I appreciate that insight! I won't be asking or dealing with sensitive information (medical, financial, etc.). Allowing myself to be more present during the call would be a benefit, for sure. I'll think it over. Thank you!
Question for coaches with repeat 1:1 clients
How do you prep for a call with someone you haven't spoken to in a week or two? Do you go back and review notes or the recording beforehand? Wing it and let the client remind you? Something else entirely? Trying to understand how much people actually think about this vs. it just not being a thing.

I read over the last notes I took, to remind myself of where we left off and any action items they were supposed to take. Sometimes I remember some question that I wanted to ask so I make a note to ask it during the session.
What happens after a client says YES? 👀
You’ve had the sales call conversation and your client wants to work with you 👏 So what happens next in your business? 👀 I think we spend a LOT of time thinking about how to get someone to the point where they say yes... But then much less time thinking about what happens immediately afterwards. - Do they get a welcome email? - A questionnaire? - Something explaining how everything works? - Something to prepare them for their first session? - Do you have a set process you follow every time or does it depend on the client? What’s the very first thing that happens in YOUR business after someone becomes a client? I’d love to know 👇

@Pandora Saunders That's what I'm planning on doing as well. Thank you for validating my thoughts.
How much does a new client know before their first session?
Imagine I’ve just signed up to work with you. Before we have our first proper session, would I know... → What happens next → What I need to do before we meet → What I can expect from you → What you expect from me → How and when I can contact you → Where everything I need is kept → What happens if I need to cancel → How our work together is going to work Or have some of those things just naturally ended up being explained as you go? Once you’ve been coaching for a while, you know exactly how your business works but your new client doesn't and there are probably lots of little things we take for granted because they feel obvious to us. What's ONE thing you always make sure a new client knows before you start working together? 👇

I'm loving this list. I'm starting to think about and build this coaching business. I will make sure to include everyone's insights. Thank you!
