🎨 New YouTube Video! My walkabout in the National Gallery London 🥳
Sometimes the best thing you can do for your creativity is simply spend time around great art. 🙌🏻 I took myself on an artist date to the National Gallery in London, where I wandered through rooms filled with paintings I’ve admired for years. Seeing works by Turner, Holbein, Seurat and Delaroche in person is such a different experience to seeing them in books or online. You notice the brushstrokes, the textures, the colours… and the stories hidden within them. One of the things I love most about artist dates is that they remind us we don’t have to create every day to grow as artists. Sometimes the most important part of the creative process is observing, being curious, and allowing yourself to be inspired. ❤️😍 If you’ve ever wondered how to “read” a painting or you’re looking for a little creative spark, I hope you’ll enjoy coming along with me. 🎥 The video is live now ! 🥳 https://youtu.be/CKKnYs0a5EE?is=sXjwH4afGwem9HRr I’d love to know which painting you would stand in front of for just a little longer. 💜 Kate

Colour as feeling
So I was busy covering an old canvas today, and I chose my colours without thinking, and used random marks, and stencils to add details, masking tape on and off to add marks (this is what I do) then whilst having lunch I decided it was high time to peruse the classroom. What do I find but a colour chart, and a chart telling me what I was clearly craving within my paint today! Green /blue green have been my colours of choice today .. apparently I need to feel calm, balance, renewal, relief and fresh And funny enough I did genuinely feel that before starting today!

My weekend adventure 🗺️🪴🎶
As many of you know, I’ve been away with @Kane Andriunas this weekend, and although I’m very happy to be home (and rather sore from all the walking… blisters included 🙈), it was completely worth it. 🥳😍 The sun shone beautifully over St Austell in Cornwall, where we rented the most gorgeous old cottage. It was the perfect base for a little creative adventure. 🧭🗺️ One of the highlights was spending a day at Heligan Gardens. If you’ve never been, it’s one of those places that feels like you’ve wandered into the pages of a storybook. Ancient pathways weave through towering plants, hidden corners seem to appear around every bend, and everywhere you look there’s something quietly beautiful waiting to be noticed. It’s a place that invites you to slow down and simply be curious. 🌱🪴🫛 Yesterday we headed to the Eden Project. In this heat… wow! 🤦🏻‍♀️ The biomes were even hotter than usual, so it certainly felt like an adventure! Thankfully, as the evening rolled in, everything cooled down just in time for the Eden Sessions. We were lucky enough to have VIP tickets to see Mika, and what an incredible night it was. We danced, sang our hearts out, and had the absolute best time. 💜 I captured loads of photos and video over the weekend, so I’ll start editing those soon. For now, here are a few unedited snapshots from a weekend that reminded me creativity doesn’t always come from sitting at an easel. Sometimes it comes from wandering somewhere magical, listening to music under an open sky, and making memories with people you love.🥰 I hope you all had a wonderful weekend too. Tell me… what filled your creative cup this weekend? 🥰

The Conductor of Colour 🎨
Sometimes I think the sky is an orchestra, and colour is its music. 🌈 The sun stands just beyond the horizon, lifting a silent baton, and every cloud waits for its cue. Gold hums into amber. Amber swells into crimson. Violet quietly slips between the notes until the whole sky is singing. 🎶🌈 Nature doesn’t rush its masterpiece. It doesn’t wonder if the colours work together or whether someone will approve. It simply creates, boldly, instinctively, beautifully. Maybe that’s something we can learn as artists. We don’t always need to control every brushstroke. Sometimes our job is simply to become the conductor of colour… to listen, to respond, and to let the painting find its own rhythm. 🙌🏻👏🏻 Last night’s sky reminded me that the greatest palettes have always belonged to nature. We are just lucky enough to borrow them for a little while. 🌅✨

Nature’s Palette 🎨✨
I couldn’t not share this insane sky we had tonight. 😍 Every now and then nature reminds us that it doesn’t need a paintbrush to create a masterpiece. The clouds were set ablaze with glowing oranges, soft pinks and hints of purple, and for a few precious minutes the whole world seemed to pause. 😍 No filters could ever quite capture the feeling of standing there and watching the sky paint itself. I hope you managed to catch a little piece of it wherever you are. 🌅🧡 Sometimes the greatest artist of all is the one above us. 💛
