@Adam Nelson What's in the Epiphone case? 😂

I'll share a pic of my home studio later, but here's how I work when I'm traveling. Macbook and AKAI LPK25. Little baby mobile rig. 😂 Sometimes I also bring a Mackie Onyx interface with 1 XLR if I think I'll track vocals or percussion.
Feedback for a Pop Ballad?
Hey all! Looking for feedback for my first finished track since we've started in the Sync Accelerator! I'm a little nervous sharing for the first time, but I'm ready! This track was heavily inspired by soft pop/piano ballads by Tate McRae, Olivia Rodrigo, and Lewis Capaldi, and. could use your feedback to help me finish it. My To Do List still includes: -Timing Vocal Doubles -Ear Candy/Transitions/Creating small moments that keep the track moving -Mixing! Right now I've got levels roughly where I want them but would like some feedback before I start mixing. Right now, my biggest struggles are with drums and of course vocals. Do the drums feel sort of flat? Are the background vocals distracting? I feel like I'd like to add more layers but don't want to overdo it or take away from the main melody in a ballad like this. Thanks for any feedback ya'll might have! https://s.disco.ac/qlehcesqkkqm

Jenn, LOVE THIS, and I got goose bumps when those really low notes hit in the choruses! When you work on ear candy ideas, I’d love to hear some accentuation of those points. (You’ve already added a strings pad earlier in the arrangement, but I could totally hear some possible solo cello lines.) To add my 2 cents to your production questions, I don’t think the backing vocals are too much, and honestly, it doesn’t hurt to track as much experimentation as you’re hearing in your brain and then pick and choose in the final mix. Extra options (within reason for time, Hi Glenn, lol), is something that has worked well for me. Also, the drums are great, and I could hear them possibly taking off even more in the second chorus, instead of dropping out. Great job! Excited to hear more and proud of you for sharing for feedback. I will follow your lead and get some work up here soon too.
Introduction
Hello everybody! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this community, and thank you for organizing and sharing all the information you have Glenn. I appreciate the advice and insights that you have shared. I am in the process of getting myself organized. I really enjoy the creation process, but I lack connections and after watching some of your vids, I realize I need to pull some stuff out of mothballs, and build my catalog with more than just tracks, but info about them etc. If you all want to check out some of my creations, you can see my website, or find some of my stuff on a variety of streaming platforms. I look forward to seeing where this goes, and where this journey takes us all.

@Tim Jeffcoat @Adam Nelson I've been a Taxi member for 2 years, but plan to cancel when this current membership runs out in May. I have not submitted for very many briefs; I meant to, but life had other plans. I received some basically short and unhelpful feedback for the most part, and got one 'forward.' That one forward ended in a company offering to include the track in a catalog, they asked me to revise a section of the song, said they were "sending a contract", and I got excited for my first placemen,t but I never heard from them again. It seemed too sketchy to pursue it. I was pretty disappointed.
Monday Morning
Good Morning Everyone!!! How many songs we finishing this week. I managed to finish 6 fully last week and I got two mixes starting out already. What are we shooting for this week?

I'm traveling this week and haven't finished any songs in progress on the road, but I've managed to get some editing started on a couple of old pieces that need to be revamped before they're 'syncable.' I get home on Thursday though, so we'll see, lol!

Imagine traveling across an endless sea of golden sand, the wind carries whispers of forgotten kingdoms and ancient ruins. The sun burns high above the horizon as a lone traveler journeys across the vast desert, only guided by distant mountains and fading echoes of lost civilization. Very descriptive I know, it took a lot of convincing to show this to the class. Like many I too fear rejection and sometimes feel like my work isn’t ready to share. But how are we suppose to grow without taking chances and risk. So here is a piece of work I have been in the process of finishing up. It is still in the early stages but it is ready to be shared. Class I ask very kindly of you all please help me with feedback so I can finish this project. I feel like as far as sound design goes I nailed it. But, I would like your honest feedback to help me improve. I definitely feel like the mix could use some work. Some parts seem a little short, some feel a little empty. Don’t be afraid to let me know I promise I can take it. I want to know what are your thoughts on this piece and how I can overall improve it. Do you think the melodies clash, the drums aren’t fitting. Maybe they sound flat, does it change pace a little too fast or too much. Or maybe it could use more atmosphere. My goal was not to over produce this but to simply convey the feeling of traveling through a desert landscape for a video game. Hope you enjoy it. https://s.disco.ac/masdbvjbjrxp

Love that you shared this, and IMHO the vibe of the track absolutely aligns with the scene you described. I agree with Glenn that overall volume should come up, and I'm also wondering what action is happening in the game while this underscore is playing (?). Also wanted to say that the vibe of your track, to me, is tasteful as well, not cheesy. The only gaming experience I have had in recent years is VR, Meta Quest games, and my biggest complaint with them is that the majority of the music is goofy, and sometimes ruins a game or misses an opportunity to take the player to another level of experience. Thanks for sharing this!
