Partner-, client-, or customer-getting riddle
UPDATE: This riddle has been solved. @James Harrison got it in the comments below. But before you go and read James's answer, I highly recommend reading the riddle yourself, and thinking about it a bit, and trying to figure it out on your own. The answer, whether you figure it out or read it later, will be much more useful to you that way. ============== I just got a guy with an email list of 99,000 people, mostly buyers... ... and a proven $10k offer, plus a stable of lower-ticket products... ... say he's interested in handing over his list to me for me to monetize for him, via auction or in some other way. Maybe nothing will come of this. Still, I'm posting it because I'm chuffed about the possibility. Plus, I'm posting it because there's a lesson here that's relevant to you if you have an email list, and if you are looking for partners, clients, or customers. Do you want to guess how this guy and I started talking, and what I did to get him to express interest in working with me? I'll tell you this: - I'd never heard of this guy until two days ago - He didn't come via the "refer me your copywriting client" campaign I ran to my email list last week - I did not send him any kind of cold outreach message - He did not send me any kind of cold outreach message - We didn't meet in a group, a mastermind, a bathhouse, or an orgy So? You wanna guess how this guy and I started talking, and how the conversation turned to partnership in a jiffy? Or you need more information? Ask away or guess away. The smallest bit of thinking about this today will make this lesson stick more in your mind, and increase the odds you apply it tomorrow.

@John Bejakovic Ah I just saw that he didn't reach out to you Did he join your email list, and then you saw that, did some research on him, and sent him an email?

@John Bejakovic Wooo! Only took me 3 guesses... You miss 100% of the shots you don't take
Would you love a launch? Or meh a launch?
Valentine's Day is tomorrow... do you have a date? Or maybe less heartbreakingly... Do you have a Valentine's Day launch or promo planned for your list? I mean, some cool, deadline-based offer, and a sequence of emails, which can bring in an extra $5k... $15k... $25k over the next week? If you don't, what if I were to create such a launch for you? And what if I did it in such a way that you would be GUARANTEED to make way more money than you pay me? Yes? No? And if you think Valentine's Day is a little too tight to be realistic... ... there's plenty of other launch-worthy occasions coming up: - February 16. World Whale Day - March 8. Daylight Savings - March 14. Pi Day - March 23. National Puppy Day Interested? Not interested? Let me know below:

Post-party update (yes, I am still alive)
It is the DAY AFTER The first Daily Email House pool party and associated "I endorse YOU" auction wrapped up yesterday at 6pm my time. All the partygoers were beautifully behaved, a real peace-love-understanding-respect crowd. Today I found no broken glass, no food on the floor, and no pee in the pool (from what I can tell at least). Still, it's a bit of a mess after every party. Since yesterday was a banger, it's gonna take me a while to clean up. All that's to say: - If you have DM'ed me over the past 18 or so hours, and I haven't gotten back to you yet, I will get back to you. - If you participated in the auction and are wondering where your promised PARTICIPATION POOL PARTY FAVOR is, it's coming. (I gotta write it up, but I can tease you by saying it is something we have already voted on in this community and have seen significant interest in.) - As for prizes for intermediate top-bidder winners: @Thomas Lalas - wins a physical copy of the best book I have found to date on the topic of SHOWMANSHIP. Will send it out... soon. @Yehoshua Kahan - wins licensing rights to one of my courses, to sell in perpetuity and keep 100% of the money. I'm already in touch with Yehoshua about which of my courses he wants to claim. Best/funniest comment prize - I will announce that in a special post, because it's deserving of a special post. But partygoers probably have a good sense of who's gonna win it. Special thanks to both @Maliha M and @Chris Dyson, who were helping me behind the scenes, and without whom this party wouldn't be what it turned out to be. And now... At this point, it's little secret who our auction winner is. But still it deserves repeating and putting into lights as much as possible: Our AUCTION WINNER IS.. 🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈 🎉🎉🎉🎉 @Nick Bandy!!!! 🎉🎉🎉 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

I have to say that it's been insightful to watch you putting this auction on John, thank you. And congrats to @Nick Bandy
[ALIVE] Pool party + "I endorse YOU" auction
Welcome WELCOME The pool party is ON. You can find the margaritas and soft drinks over in the corner... ... the DJ has set up and is playing already... ... and after you've had a chance to dip yourself in the pool, and as the party heats up... ... perhaps you'd like to also take a look at this little offer I am making? The offer in a peanut shell: I am offering to take the winning bidder — let's imagine it's you — and... 1. To give you a NAME and credibility on the Internet, along with MY FULL ENDORSEMENT, and... 2. To DRIVE MY RESPONSIVE READERS to the optin for your list, and... 3. To work with you and co-create a SEXY ACQUISITION FUNNEL (free giveaway + paid thank-you page offer), which you can use to build up your email list AND make money on day zero by turning new subscribers into buyers right away, plus... 4. I'm guaranteeing, with my two hands, that if you win this auction you will MAKE BACK 100% OF YOUR MONEY before I'm done endorsing and promoting you. Again, I will send out a dedicated email to endorse you and your offer, and to drive my audience to you. If you don't recoup all your investment with that first email I send, I will keep sending more dedicated emails, for as long as it takes, to promote and endorse you until you do recoup your winning bid. (If needed, we will also keep working together to tweak your funnel to make sure the right people sign up AND turn into buyers.) That's the little auction offer I'm making, for you to consider while you baste in my pool. I'm also offering a few POOL PARTY FAVORS if you happen to win the auction: 1. Wine and tapas on me whenever you get to Barcelona. (I know a good place around the corner from my new apartment, in the Gothic quarter. Once you finish with the pool and dry off, we can head over there.) 2. A list of newsletters you can run ads in, so they drive their own readers to you, and so you can keep growing your list at breakeven or at a profit, regularly, month after month. (And yes, you can approach these newsletter owners and tell them, "John Bejakovic already endorsed this offer... and his audience loved it.")

What do you do for fun?
I heard someone smart say yesterday, "we're not in a trust crisis... we're in a fun crisis." As in, folks just aren't having enough fun. What do YOU do for fun? Think about it for a moment, and then comment below. It will be good for your emails... for your business... and for your life. I'll start: Wordle. I tried to quit it. It didn't work. Why? Because it's fun.

Wordle is great, but the most enjoyable daily game I've found so far is Clues By Sam. It's a logic puzzle where you have to figure out who's a criminal and who's innocent. It's really fun, some of the hardest puzzles (on Sundays) I can't do without hints. Also, I love photography. Everyday I go for long walks with my dog and a camera, and we see what animals we can spot
