Hello!
I am new here and I just joined because I connected with Rositsa in the Skoolers group and felt an instant spark. I decided to follow and then I just realized there is a group, so I joined! It seems like this is a lovely group of people and I already love the vibe. I am in the middle of making a comeback from a tough first month of the year, where I fractured my foot, got a blood clot from it and then just got diagnosed with POTS. I am re-vamping how I do things to accommodate my needs at the moment, as the particular blood thinner that I am on, happens to be a trigger for some POTS patients-- and I guess I fit that bill. ๐Ÿซ  I will share more as I go along but thank you so much for having me! I did build out my Skool group but haven't opened it yet and feel like I have a little more to learn alongside making these adjustments before I launch but look at a March opening.

Sing A Duet With Someone On A Song She Wrote, That I Never Heard Nor Sang Before In My Life? Challenge Accepted.
Sunday evening [02/08/2026] after I got home from Church, I was on Smule just exploring different singers I follow. One in particular, Julieanne Black Reel from Ireland, released a song titled Opened Up The Sky back in 2021. She uploaded it to Smule and left it open as a duet since 2023. I came across the song that very evening and said to myself, "I wanna try it." This is my legit first time singing this song at all, Never sang this song before, ever, until said day. Let me be clear tho, this is different than singing a duet with someone on a popular radio song neither partner owns. This is her original. Related? Of course. But there's an intricacy that often gets overlooked. Although she says "Do whatever comes natural," I also acknowledge the need to be calculated because again, this IS an original of hers. In a matter of split moments, I have to decide in real time How much of my own embellishments to insert, when/where to insert them and when/where to refrain. When to bring forth my own stylistic dynamic, and when to match hers, as the goal is to sing with her, not to show off in an attempt to outshine her. This is a rare earmark of a singer's true humility nowadays in a world of competitive singing. Hope you enjoy, and of course, check out the official release when you can.

My Favorite Bar: Singer Turnt Rapper Call Me T-Pain In Reverse
This Particular bar is actually a Call-out To T-Pain's album RAPPA TERNT SANGA. This is the most Boombap rap I've ever written and attempted last year. The beat was produced by Isaintjames. One thing I notice about myself with these is my love for Flow Switches and Flow Onsets. Onsets in this case is where I sneak in a particular flow pattern, almost like a little tease. I try to place them in unexpected yet tasteful spots instead of every 4 bars or so. My challenge for you: See if you can spot the ONSETS, they're pretty tricky to catch if all you're focused on is the switches.

@Rositsa Aleksandrova Honestly, Fast rap is an illusion with me, which is the goal for any good rapper. It's more about being measured and metered. Where a lot of modern-day choppers fall short is they rely so much on speed, that clarity and cohesivity are forfeited. But when you measure your flow, switch it often, and add Onsets here and there, Even double time and triple time will maintain the cohesiveness of a standard flow, hence me saying fast rap is an illusion. This rap in particular is a prime example of this logic.

@Rositsa Aleksandrova Would you? Because I would assume, being a pianist, a musician in general, you'd be able to pick up on the pattern. The intricacies of the separate skills are evident, but the logic applies to both. Even if you need to play it at half speed to find it, I think you can do it. Listening to your compositions, I notice your implementations of this same concept in similar if not equivalent ways.๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š
Percussive Keyboard meets Percussive Cello (@miamicellist) on TikTok
This one is a very old one, like... 2022 Lithonia, GA old. But you can truly see my focus is mad intense, because I'm paying attention to the cadence she's creating and trying to match it on the keys. Improvising the rhythm of my playing to match her complexity. It's also my First time doing a slide across the keys with triads on my right hand (around 0:15 Mark). This was tricky, took me several trials until I got this take in one go.
