Happy Friday! What are your WINS For The Week?
It's the weekend for a lot of us Syndicate Fam. That doesn't mean we stop hustling, just that we MAY get to sleep in an extra hour. I hope you all had a great week and at least one professional and personal win this week. Share with the group if you are excited or proud of it. If you have anything you want to post about your business for the Sunday Newsletter, DM or email to Scott@leftofstr8.com We have a great interview this week with a life and job coach from LA who has created an amazing networking event he hosts weekly. I actually have a little extra time and am looking for my next great Read for 2026. Any recommendations for either a business book or a mystery novel? Love to hear your suggestions....S

I was invited to join an invite-only roundtable with Philadelphia City Council members and LGBTQ Business owners next week. I will definitely report back on how that went next week.
Happy Bear Coffee has received our LGBTBE Status
Good morning all! This post comes a few days ahead of the Friday Wins. I wanted to share that we have officially been certified as an LGBTBE by the NGLCC (National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce). We have been working for months to complete the process. This now opens doors for us to various Diverse Supplier opportunities and to connect with over 2,200 Certified LGBT Businesses. If you want more info about how to get your LGBTBE, shoot me a message. ☕🌈

@Scott Fullerton I think I know what you mean by the two minds. As the former Treasurer of the Independence Business Alliance (Philly's LGBTQ+ Chamber), I saw the advantages of certification and the doors it opened. That being said, I also noticed how sometimes there was a sense of exclusion (or perceived) within our community. Thank goodness the IBA is a super-supportive organization, from my time on the Board to now as a business member. Would love to chat with you about your thoughts.

@Richard Skipper I certainly will!
Honing our Roasts
On Wednesday and Thursday we had a roasting consultant out to the roastery to help us hone in all of our roast profiles. We bought and installed a new roaster this summer, and at the six-month mark, new roasters need their roast profiles tweaked, as they are then considered "seasoned". It was a great time for our team to ask questions and learn some of the nuances of this new roaster. We had been roasting on a 1954 Probat Drum Roaster 60KG (the new one is a Loring 70KG). There won't be any change to the taste of our beans except that now we know it is honed in perfectly.

@Danielle Morris amen to that! You don't want to know how much coffee I consume in a day between drinking and getting the contact high each time a roast drops! :-) And that may be an interesting social media video.."want some Wiz with your coffee!"
