Etudes 1.3 and 1.4
Here is the recording for Etudes 1.3 and 1.4, now with Marc's sound slice, guitar might not be audible very clearly. Still learning to record my guitar with the audio interface 😊. At this point my focus is to get the Charleston Rhythm down. Normally while practicing I play 1.1 to 1.8 with Marc's sound slice at 100% tempo.
@Ashwini Nepal - Great work, pretty clean sound. Here is my feedback. https://www.loom.com/share/baae3757c007491ca1377c41e7f75151
@Mentor Bob Kinney Thanks, Bob :)
Etudes 1.1 and 1.2
I just came back from vacation and now have time for recording Etudes 1.1 and 1.2. I tried using the ireal pro backing track 80 bpm. Timing is consistent at 80% when I play along with Marc's soundslices. Here is the first try with ireal pro backing track. @Coach Gabriel Sebrian
@Ashwini Nepal - Welcome back, and great work posting your videos. Here is my feedback: https://www.loom.com/share/a0892ddd25d848cb8958492691180686
Summer's End (step 1)
I'm starting to work these days with volume 3 of Barry Galbraith (with Marc's videos, they are fantastic!), very difficult and very useful at the same time. To relax a little, I wanted to start playing a piece by Ralph Towner that I've always liked: Summer's End, a beautiful ballad. I've made the chord sequence with iReal Pro (I attach an image). It's the second tribute that I dedicate to my beloved Ralph Towner (who I've been listening to since I was sixteen) and who passed away this past January. I'll also try to make a chord melody, let's see if I can manage it.
@Miquel Bassols - Great feel, Miquel! Nice playing, nice guitar tone (and nice Ibanez too 😎🎸). Loved it!
The Nearness of You
I've spent the past two weeks at the Pete Huttlinger Guitar and Fly Fishing Camp in Livingston Montana. Last night was student performances. I'm playing along with one of our guitar instructors, the amazing Pat Bergeson. https://youtu.be/VWvREj-chqs You can check out Pat at www.patbergeson.com
@Mentor Miles Barel -- Wow, great performance. Great playing and singing!
Round Midnight full melody
Latest update to this part of the tune. This time with the B section and the corrections in the A sections so astutely pointed out by @Mentor Bob Kinney. There's nothing fancy here just the straight melody played in time with a focus on clean and clear notes. I think there are still a few spots where I could sustain a note just a bit longer. I wanted (needed?) to get it very stable before exploring any embellishments, decorations or rhythmic variations. At this pace, I found it surprisingly easy to lose concentration and lose my place. As usual, any and all feedback is appreciated...
@Rick Harding - Nice work! Great timing, tone and feel. Mentor Bob already nailed on the feedback, and I agree with him. My only addition would be loop the melody with the backing track, play it straight as it is for one or two choruses, then start taking more liberties on how you interpred it, using a slide here and there, or playing it more laid back, etc. Almost like if you were improvising. Great consistency, by the way, keep it up! 💪
