New member welcome 🤗
Hello team! Can we all give a really warm welcome to our new friend @Luke Slater . Luke runs Rewilding Therapies in the UK and I'm sure will be a great addition to our community. Luke, welcome to the team! Head over to the #Welcome! Which will explain a little more about how things happen in this space. Then, when you're ready, do these 3 things to get you started: 👋🏼 Navigate to the intro thread and introduce yourself 👍🏼 Find a post you like and engage with it - comment or like (this builds your levels and allows you to access more). 🪂 Navigate to the Resource Drop category and feel free to download anything that's useful for you. Delighted to have you here & I hope you enjoy the space. ~Step Outside to Reset Inside~

Welcome!
Thursday Micro-Challenge🧭
Name that Nature 🌿 Today's challenge is all about connecting with the outdoors in a mindful way. I have shared in the past that there are benefits to our psyche when we notice patterns and spend time in nature - this challenge is set to encourage that. The Challenge: 🧭 Find 5 mins in your day and head outdoors 🧭 Photograph something in nature & share it below in the comments 🧭 Name that Nature - tell us what it is or if you don't know share it and see if someone else knows! This could open up a beautiful thread on the ID of various natural things 🍄 So, it's only 5 mins of your day - who's joining in?

It looks like what we used to ‘play’ with as kids. Pop the flower under someone’s chin to find out if they liked butter… 🤣😂😅
Resource Drop incoming 🪂
Natural Navigation 🧭 Sharing a wee resource with you all this morning on natural navigation; in particular, using the sun to find directions. Having the ability to find out the cardinal points when outdoors is very beneficial and this is just 1 way of using natural navigation. I may turn this into a series 🤔. Place a stick in the ground and watch a shadow appear. Place a rock at the tip of this shadow and it will be the approximate West. Wait 10-15 mins and place a rock at the tip of the shadow, which should now have moved - this is East. We now have our West - East line. To find North, stand with your left foot at West and right foot at East and you'll be facing North. Handy trick 👍🏼

It’s incredible how our ancestors navigated back in the day isn’t it. I learned a bit about this a few months back…. What about the smoke signals too…. lol 😝
Friday's Quizzy Question ❓❓
Yesterday was a busy day for me so coupling Thoughtful Thursday with Friday's Quizzy Question 👇🏼 ❓If access to the outdoors was taken away, what do you think would happen? Now, in Scotland, we have the Right to Roam so long as the Scottish Outdoor Access Code is followed. In England, it's a little different, they have some freedoms but less than Scotland. I'm unsure how things work overseas, but from what I can gather, in the US, there are National Parks available for visiting, but there are trespass laws and it's a little stricter? (Happy to be corrected). But what if complete access was blocked, no outdoor tourism/ no visiting National Parks, trespassing extended to these areas and more 😬 A horrible thought, but could it happen? Perhaps? a) How would you cope - emotionally & otherwise b) How do you think 'they' would begin implementing something like this? c) How long do you reckon it would take the public to revolt and cause chaos for those attempting to restrict its use? Let's open discussion and remember to be kind: 👇🏼 you guys know what to do 👍🏼

Hmmm…. Very interesting. Have any of you heard of 15 minute cities? If not, google it and see what you come up with. For people like us, it would be a nightmare…. Wonder why there are more and more people ‘working from home’…. Soft introduction of things to come…?
