I recently had the opportunity to be a 𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗮 𝗽𝗼𝗱𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁, and it reminded me of something I want every author in this community to understand: your book can create opportunities that go far 𝗯𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗼𝗻 𝗿𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀. When I first started publishing, I was 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀. But over time, publishing has also helped me build authority, grow an audience, teach other authors, create a community, and now get invited into conversations like this. This is why I encourage you to think about your book as 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁. 👉 Your book can be your introduction. 👉 Your credibility. 👉 Your conversation starter. And sometimes, 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 you weren’t previously reaching. I wanted to thank @Robert Redden for inviting me to be on his podcast Walking With The Reddens. I am not able to be on every podcast I get invited to, but Rob has been an active member of this community and he is always spreading positivity. 🙌 I’ll share the podcast below if you’d like to listen.
