The classroom was full. The feed was quiet.
Have you ever opened your Skool community, looked at all the members, and wondered why so few people were actually talking? You've created the content. You've posted the questions. You've tried to keep the energy going. And sometimes, it feels like you're having a conversation with yourself. 😅 Here's something I've come to believe: building a community isn't just about getting people through the door. It's about creating relationships, encouraging participation and helping people feel they belong. But here's another thing I've learned… You need people who understand the journey you're on, too. People who know what it's like to build from scratch, experiment with ideas and keep showing up when growth feels slow. That's one of the reasons I created Skool Nexus — a place for Skool community owners to share ideas, explore collaborations and learn from people who are building communities themselves. Because sometimes, you don't need another course. You just need someone who understands Skool to say, "I've been there. Try this." ❤️ If you're building a Skool community, what has been harder for you: attracting members or getting them involved? I'd love to hear your experience.

@Lisa Viviers Thank you. Still using discovery as a metric of just where we stand. We were at over 600, and then we dropped to 134, and now we're back up to 170. At least it's way better than +600.

Chef Andrew in The Exchange
Turn The Tables is a visibility perk that members of The Health Exchange have the option to do to get THEIR word out. Their community, who they are and what they do! This week @Andrew Brooks is joining me and I am so excited. Many of you know I do not like to cook. Yesterday Andrew gave me a quick and easy way to make soy sauce. NO, I have not tried it yet, but it is on my to do list, cause the bought versions are too salty. Andrew has 3 Skools, YES 3. Wow, one is tough. They are Spirited Food, Spirited Femme Health and Men's Handbook for Happiness. Join us in The Health Exchange to meet Andrew at 11 am EST, 10 CT and 8 am PST.

@Lisa Drennon Hi Lisa, Well, two of them, yes, absolutely, and one of them indirectly. My Men's Handbook for Happiness community is not directly related to food, although that is a part of the whole picture. The other two, yes, are centered in food and nutrition as a means of positively modulating health and wellness.
Visibility
Visibility is the quality, state, or degree of being able to be seen. Engagement used to be so important to Skool communities. It is still part of our efficiency scores, but not as important as it once was. If we do not want to be giving the platform a portion of our earnings VISIBILITY IS KEY! Health & health-related communities AND Seekers, becoming more visible in THE EXCHANGE! How important is visibility to your community?

Now I'm seeing Olivia Newton-John. Which is not a bad thing. I totally agree with you about visibility, and I think it's important, too, to make yourself and your community visible by having conversations and making yourself known in several communities. I've noticed there are a lot of issues with growth boost right at the moment, and the only thing that can fix that is the visibility and the clear communication to use the proper links. But you got to be visible and out there first.
I'm so NOT ready for this!
Walked into Wal-Mart this week for a few miscellaneous things and there it was! Skeletons on one aisle and fully lit Christmas tree on the next. 🫣 It's not even October. Even my daughter was like "Isn't it a bit early for this?" ... and she's only 10! It remined me that we all know how this goes... It starts with hoodies and pumpkin spice lattes. Then Halloween hits. You blink, it's Thanksgiving. Then Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday, Christmas... and somehow it's January and you're wondering where the last three months went! For business owners, that stretch has the biggest buying days of the entire year. People are looking for deals and gifts and reasons to spend their money on everything and anything! So I just have to ask, where are you at with your holiday promos? 👇 Hit up the poll then tell me in the comments what you're thinking of offering. Half-baked ideas count cuz those are usually my favorite 😝

@Michelle Cyr Oh wow, fresh elderberries would be a super treat! That's one food I have not had fresh, and I would really love to. Elderflower, too, is something you can harvest and use in ferments and in sauces and desserts. What a wonderful plant.

@Michelle Cyr Super smart. That definitely makes me miss my home in Austin. We had a really good start on a food forest at the house. We had: - pecan trees - a persimmon tree - a green plum tree - a satsuma - a Meyer lemon - a variegated lemon - a key lime - various wild pepper bushes growing around too I'm going to have that again wherever I end up, because there's nothing nicer than just being able to walk outside and pick some food to eat.
A Story About A Man & A Stroke
An elderly man has been to the hospital after a mild stroke (when blood flow to part of the brain is blocked or a blood vessel in the brain bleeds). He is fortunate. There has not been a lot of damage to his brain, and he is still walking and talking, but the left side of his body is weak. The doctor prescribes a blood thinner (a medicine that helps keep blood clots from forming) to prevent a recurrent or bigger stroke. The bottle gives the drug's name, the strength, and the dose. The man has been taking ASA (acetylsalicylic acid, also known as aspirin) for many years to help prevent stroke and heart attack, but a stroke did happen. The man goes home and adds the blood thinner to his daily medications. 🔍 Can you spot the problem in this story? If so, tell me below! 👇 Ask Lynne's Health Exchange - more voices - better health literacy!

The general rule is always to ask because doctors don't always think of all the questions that they should ask. And especially when it comes to medications, there are medication-to-medication interactions that can occur. There are medication-food interactions that can occur. There's so much that needs to be considered. And it's really our responsibility as practitioners of our own health to ask these questions. And also to make it known what medications are on the daily regimen
