🌲 What’s the Most Frustrating Wood You’ve Ever Worked With? (Win $100 Gift Card!)
Some woods test your patience more than your tools. Tear-out, splinters, dull blades — the works. Which wood gave you the biggest headache, and why? If you survived, tell us how you lived to tell the tale. 🏆 Prize: $100 Sawinery Gift Card (because you earned it after that battle) 📅 Winner announced on December 15! 📍 Open to U.S. customers only (for now). We’re working on making them available in more locations soon!

I am finishing up a cocktail table I am making out of mesquite slabs. Mesquite is an amazingly heavy and dense wood, that requires multiple passes to cut through a 2"+ slab and it was difficult to get straight edges defined, because the grain kept changing regularly.

I am retired now but I taught high school woodshop in the late 70s. I repaired furniture for a large retailer for 21 years at the end of my career.
