Dear Teacher, On this New Year's Day, a reminder that most of teaching is beautifully ordinary. Rolling out mats. Opening windows. Repeating cues we’ve said hundreds of times. Seeing familiar faces settle into familiar spots. And yet… Within the ordinary, the sacred hides. A student who finally notices their breath. Someone who arrives heavy and leaves lighter. The moment the room exhales together. The split-second where everything goes still. This month, honour the ordinary. It’s not “just another class.” It’s someone’s first step toward feeling whole again. Someone’s anchor in a chaotic week. Someone’s reminder that they’re not alone.
