Hat Etiquette
Gents, there was quite a bit of great discussion about the wearing of a hat and what would be proper etiquette. I would love to hear more on this subject if everyone wouldn't mind doing so. Being a hat man myself, I would also love to know how you have arrived to this decision. To start this off I feel I should give my thoughts. I feel wearing a hat is a great discussion piece but also feel that once you step indoors that it should be removed.

I'm mixed on the removal of a hat indoors. I had a hat stolen when I took it off in a restaurant as there was no place at the table to set it so I placed it on a half wall above where I was eating. It was out of site till I was done and that was I realized it had been pilfered. Now I only take it off in trusted places

👔 Every man has that one moment - when he started caring about how he looked. Maybe it was the first time you wore a suit that actually fit. Or when someone complimented your shoes and you realized details matter. Maybe it was the day you stopped dressing like a boy and started showing up like a man. Style isn’t about vanity - it’s about confidence, presence, and self-respect. 👉 What was the first style change you made that made you feel different? 👉 Who or what inspired it? 👉 Do you still carry that same mindset today? In high school I was in a musical where I got to wear a tuxedo with a white jacket. Similar to Bogart in Casablanca. That got me started.

My hat predates wearing my kilt. It is a constant reminder in my office of the shenanigans Tim and I have been involved with together for over two decades. My buddy Tim is facing the biggest challenge of his life. His chronic lukemia has shifted into full blown accute lymphoma and he is receiving chemo while simultaneously battling a serious infection in his lower leg now the size of a small tree trunk (the sepsis is gone but leg is still a problem.) My wife calls Tim my band wife. After 21 years of Timmy O’Brian’s Celtic Cheer we “share joint custody” of our two 26 year old sons who have been in the band now for over 10 years. The boys were like brothers on our various family vacations. I sent a message out to the rest of the band for prayers for Timmy and if you are so inclined I would appreciate any one else to do the same. Timmy is an anomoly. His photographic memory makes him quite formidable as the public defender. While he has tipped the scales in the 400lb range for quite some time he was quite the athlete in his prime receiving a football scholarship to the Univ of Central Oklahoma and an offer for a scholarship to play basketball at Dartmouth. ( I harassed him for choosing UCO but respect the fact the stadium is named after his great grandfather and he wanted to play there his whole life). He is a super nerd/jock and knows every comic book character since the dawn of comic books as well as every horror movie character even every cowboy character in every tv western and movie. Simultaneously he can spout endless sports trivia. And don’t get me started with everything historic especially regarding Celtic stuff. get well soon buddy I love you pal.

Tim is lucky to have a friend that sings his praises like you so. It amazes how to diagnosis of a loved one can be devastating but watching them thrive can be so inspiring. Tim is now in my prayers. Also that bowler rules.

Starting new goals
To improve myself as a young man I has started working out with a coworker. I have done three days so far and it is good. We walk about 2 miles for this first week, trying to work ourselves up to a full 5k by next month. Feeling good so far. Trying to add some push-ups and sit-ups when I have time.
