Tips on YT views from Skool...
We often think we are helping a YouTube (YT) creator when we share their video on social. But does it really help? It's kind of a two edged sword. I started my first YT channel almost 5 years ago without really learning much about the YT algorithm. So of course I used what worked in life outside of YT. Or at least common knowledge of what you are taught works to build a following. Which is blast it all over social, text or email your video links to friends and associates hoping they will watch, like and subscribe. All good though probably misdirected good intentions. What I have learned about the YT algorithm over those years is that it is best not to tell anyone about your YT videos or channels and trust the algorithm to do its job. Which is to share your video with viewers that are interested in your niche. The AI which is the YT Algorithm is always learning more about you as the creator and you as a watcher of YT. It's only job is to recommend videos it thinks you will click on and watch. When we try to help it by sharing videos it's possible it does more harm than good. When someone clicks on a video to "help" someone, if they only watch a few seconds they hurt the creator more than help as how long someone watches is one of many factors the AI uses to recommend the video to other viewers. Of course if you KNOW someone will LOVE a video or a creator you loved than of course share it. I have since removed the link to my channel and any links to videos I could find off my social accounts. I've decided to trust the algorithm to find my perfect viewers and the few viewers then to share my videos with people they know will love my niche. Another factor that the AI algorithm uses is total views a video receives. You think sharing the link on Skool would automatically create a view on the creators YT video. Unfortunately that is not the case. When posting a link from YT to Skool in order to have views from skool count you must add an &views or a ?views to the link and make sure it is hyperlinked or the views don't count. This video is more of a tutorial on the Skool portion. This lady explains it better than I could type it out. The first paragraph of this post is my personal knowledge. So take it for what it's worth.
