My website is now LIVE!
I've been actively putting effort into creating a Coaching program for marginalized people and the communities that support them for about 2.5 months. In retrospect, this whole thing has been gestating for much longer. As I was finishing my degree in May, I was reckoning with my future looking nothing like it had 6 months prior in my head... before the US election, when systems and processes and infrastructures were functioning like they always had. Poorly. But familiar. At the beginning of the Spring semester, it became undeniable that my anticipated career trajectory no longer existed in this realm of existence. It took me a while to recover from that devastation and student burnout. On the other side of those weeks, I did what I always do (and what I WILL always do): I found a gap and a way to fill it. Tailored Resilience Coaching will offer financially accessible services to the people who are almost always left out of minds and left out of rooms talking about publicly promoted emergency, crisis, and recovery. TRC is doing the same for local Nonprofits and Community-Based Organizations those people trust. I'd be honored if you check out my website and I'd love to hear what you think! https://tailoredresiliencecoach.com/

@Jo Flack Thank you! For now, I'll be using the site to point folks to at community events and organic conversations. There's usually a big event for one reason or another that's open to the public 2-3 times a month in my area - great opportunities for hosting an info table and networking. I've also established a partnership with the biggest LGBTQIA+ nonprofit in the North San Francisco Bay region to host free community mapping and skill-sharing workshops at their location to both strengthen community and promote the more personalized services I'm offering :) Let's definitely setup a chat! I always love sharing time with you

@Terri Ciofalo You're absolutely right. I feel for my fellow graduates, especially those who completed traditional programs to fill roles that have been eliminated. Thank you for your kind words!
POLL: All-Community Co-working Days and Times
Hi, all! I wanted to slide in with a quick poll to see what might be a winning day/time combo for 3 or 4-hour co-working blocks. We had success with office hours on Thursdays late morning/early afternoon US time, as well as other types of sessions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and the occasional themed Friday. My idea of having Mondays was especially for other solopreneurs and freelancers that might need some company to get rolling at the start of the week with those working 9-5s flexing in as they are able. So far, however, no one has attended Monday co-working sessions. For those interested in co-working, what are some day of the week and time combinations that could work for you most weeks, or whenever your schedule would allow? A note that I did not add weekends to the poll as those would be one-off. Follow these instructions to vote: 1. Select your top choice relative to YOUR time zone. 2. In the comments, add additional choices relative to your time zone. 3. Lastly, specify your time zone so that I can align everyone's votes to an option that works for most. Thank you for your feedback! ✨

Happy September, Changemakers! As we prepare for a big season with the upcoming R.I.S.E. Changemaker's Academy Launch, we're going to take this month across all of our communities to simply be in community, support each other's next steps, and co-work together. Join us Mondays in September from 8am-12 noon Central US/3-7pm Central Europe by registering here for one or more sessions this month. Next, please save the date as the first two info sessions for the R.I.S.E. Academy are now up on the calendar. You can register to attend one here. The next is on Monday 9/8 at 12noon, right after our co-working session wraps! Finally, for some fun: it's ECLIPSE season! If you are an experienced stargazer or just a little cosmo-curious, we've recently created a fun side group called Cards & Constellations for anyone that is interested in some "alternative" motivation in the form of tarot, oracle, guide and conversation cards in addition to lunar cycle insights. We have a lot of fun! Join us before this month's lunar eclipse on 9/7 and solar eclipse on 9/21. We'll see some of you there! I'm looking forward finally somewhat getting back into my own groove after an extended summer of up and down health issues, so I'll be following my own lead and doing a LOT of leaning on community as to get the word out about the Academy and, by popular demand, revisiting some of our best sessions from The Future of DEI Virtual Summit. We still have about 50% ground to cover to meet our Debt-Free Goal, and I know we can do it. Click here to check our progress meter and help us continue to chip away at this number and post-fund the Future of DEI summit. Thank you all for your ongoing support and we're looking so forward to this exciting new season about to begin!

This is sure to be a great month of existing, uplifting, and being uplifted. I'm very glad to read that you'll be giving time to getting back in your rhythm, and I hope the rest of the calendar year has health and home (in whatever ways you need it) in store for you 💙
"The more I heal, the less ambitious I become"
The way she explains her perspective on this idea really, really resonates with me. My main goal is to experience joy upon waking in the morning and peace when I lay down at night. In order to manifest that, I know I need to be helping people feel safe, cared for, and capable. What about you?

@Rebecca Carlson Right? And honestly, I think it's ok if making a ton of money is a primary goal for folks. Money = Access, and as horrible as that reality is... I know how it feels to not have the things I need- let alone the things I want- and I know how it feels to go from a constant state of trying to catch my breath to being able to finally, fully exhale because I had enough money to still have a positive bank balance at the end of the week. It didn't solve everything. But it solved a lot of things. So I think it's ok to have a money-centered goal. And that's think it's necessary for many folks to reach financial goals of plenty to be able to BEGIN thinking about what they truly want and what will bring them fulfillment in this life.
Little things that make life easier
Earlier this year, my husband and I moved into a house. It's been a lovely change after living in apartments or on couches over the past decade! We're still renters, but we have so much more space to live in and grow into. One thing I did today to make both our lives a bit easier is move the filtered water dispenser into our bedroom. We're both big water-drinkers and the fridge we have now ALSO dispenses filtered water... but it is on the other end of the house in the kitchen. So we've been dreadfully playing this little game, waiting to see who would be the last one leaving the bedroom for the night, and that person would be asked to refill both our water bottles "on the way back" 😂 In reality, it's been a non-issue. It's one of the ways we care for each other and lean on each other, especially at the end of a long day. And now we'll be able to keep that care going with much less effort. The water dispenser is literally one of those huge jugs you can get/exchange at the store with a $15 electric attachment that has a hose and a spout. We put it on top of a sturdy plant stand that we already had. It's not cute, but it's functional and comfortable. What's something you do/have that may not be cute but brings ease or comfort into your life? If you can't think of one, what's a daydream addition to your life that could do this for you?

@Erin Corine Johnson Love that! I'm deciding what habits I want to try and build into my daily structure that'll serve this purpose, now that I have time and energy to do some trial and error.

My main goal is to feel joy when I wake up and peace when I lay down. Knowing I help others foster these for themselves nurtures them for me.
