If everyone votes for the 25th I’m in Ben unfortunately I won’t be able to make it on the 1st.
blurred lines
Hello, I recently printed an image onto a wall in my home. While the result looks quite clear from a normal viewing distance (about a meter away), the image doesn't appear sharp when viewed up close. From what I’ve gathered, the wall's texture and the "pass" setting play a role here. For reference, I printed it using the 8-pass CMYK mode. It seems that images with such fine detail require a higher pass count—though, naturally, that extends the printing time. Do you have any suggestions? Have you encountered this issue before? How did you resolve it? I’d really appreciate your help. 🙏🏻

Did you upscale the image prior to printing, what DPI did you use?

Hi guys!!! I hope everyone is well and keeping busy, I just wanted to post something I came across whilst traveling last week, this is a great example of poor workmanship, I couldn’t help but take a video this is some of the new work done in my airport! Crazy to think this was accepted! So if you ever feel nervous in getting started remember this post hahaha 🤣

🤣 they are off by over a half inch on the seem lining up😱🤦🏻‍♂️🙄 you’re right how did they ever let the installer get away with that. How does the installer not have the pride to redo it.
3D Murals NI's Journey 🇮🇪
👋 Hi everyone, I'm Gary from 3D Murals NI, based in Northern Ireland. I'm just starting my journey with my first wall printer and can't wait to learn from everyone here. My focus is creating high-quality wall murals, floating mural designs, custom artwork, and eventually canvas collections for homes and businesses. I come from an engineering background, so I'm excited to combine precision with creativity. Looking forward to learning, sharing my progress, and helping others where I can. Thanks for having me! 🇮🇪☘️

Welcome Gary, what printer did you end up going with?

@Gary Martin good luck, I know waiting for it to arrive is the hardest part lol. I’m not to familiar with the mechanics of that printer but if you have any other questions on the business side or printing aspect feel free to reach out.
Weekend prints
I did these 2 prints this weekend at a local school. I actually printed 3 prints but the the walls were very badly skim coated and not even at all. I had to turn the z axis off because the head kept hitting the wall. The third print was great for 4 and a half feet of the 5 1/2 foot wide print before the gap from the wall to the printhead became to far away from the top right of the image causing it to be blurry. But short of re skimming the wall their wasn’t much I could do about it. I included the video of the 3rd print that went off the rails so you can see why it’s so important to have straight walls😩 the messed up part is the top right of the image at the end of the video. Another lesson learned unfortunately.

Ben it does have a top and bottom sensor but the variance was to great for it to adjust in time so the head kept hitting the wall on the way back down so I manually set it and turned the sensors off it was the only way to print it without a head strike. You can see in this video the gap difference from bottom to top. And when I started the print the bottom gap was much closer at the start of the print then it is at the end of it.

Believe me I tried it every way possible lol. I might still go back for another go at it if the art teacher can’t fix it I’m stubborn lol
